Boy (少年, Shōnen) is the seventeenth episode of GARO: The Makai Flower.
Synopsis[]
On his birthday, Raiga reminisces about his training with Rei to become a Makai Knight.
Summary[]
As Gonza, Crow and Mayuri watch Raiga sleep, Gonza tells them that it is Raigas birthday and how he always has a cake.
As a young Raiga is training in the woods, he hurts his arms. Akari approached him and heals his arm. Raiga tells her about how he has no master and Akari states that they are the same.
The young Raiga shouts at Gonza when he asks what kind of cake he wants.
Zaruba wakes Raiga up as Rei comes to visit, telling him that he has a promise to keep. Rei takes Raiga to the woods and tests his strength in a fight. Rei reveals to Raiga that he uses two sword as he draws with Raiga in a battle. Rei reveals that as Raiga passed the test, he would join him on a Horror hunt. Raiga looks at a toy store as Silva questions Rei.
At the next stop, Rei asks Raiga to find a Horror. As Raiga suspects a woman in the park, Rei gives him a Madō Lighter to determine if he is correct. Raiga follows the woman into a gymnasium, where he determines that she is a Horror. Raiga battles the female Horror as Rei watches. When the Horror has the upper hand, Rei intervenes and teaches Raiga about the nature of Horrors and how Makai Knights are the only ones who can defeat them. Rei offers Raiga a choice to return to a normal life. When Raiga chooses to become a Makai Knight, Rei takes him on as a student.
Raiga and Rei stop on their journey and watch Akari perform a ritual. Raiga asks Rei to wait as he walks up to Akari and tells her that he now has a mentor. She warns him not to die and tells him that he will be the kindest Makai Knight.
Raiga and Rei return home and celebrate his birthday. Rei tells Gonza that he will take a trip once Raigas training is complete.
