The madōgu get its unofficial name from its egg-shaped appearance, the top side is a faded malachite in color, while the bottom shifts from dark gray to black. In addition, some metallic design elements can be seen from the center and top. By opening the top part of the madōgu, the user reveals a small blade that is used to offer blood to the madōgu. Resume is then released under the total control of the one whose blood has been used to release it.
