Fish Tank (水槽, Suisō) is the seventeenth episode of the midnight tokusatsu series GARO.
Synopsis[]
A programmer finds an abandoned fish Horror named Haru and feeds it the blood and flesh of humans, causing the creature to grow more human-like with each victim. Kouga's feelings for Kaoru show, as he feels guilt for using her as Horror bait and feels more determined to purify and protect her. Kaoru soon learns the awful truth about Kouga's deception and runs away.
Summary[]
Mitsuru Tonuma finds a fish abandoned on the street, which he takes home and names Haru. Mitsura feeds all of his fish. He cuts his hand as he feeds Haru and notices the fish eating his blood.
Kouga tells Gonza about Priest Amon knowing where the barankas fruit is. Gonza walks away as Kaoru approaches. Kaoru asks Kouga why he didn't kill her when they first met. She subsequently asks Kouga if she will protect him.
Mitsuru feeds more blood to Haru, who has grown significantly. He speaks with Haru about how he hates humans.
The watchdogs tell Kouga to use Kaoru as bait as horrors are more active.
Sayaka visits Mitsuru, where he threatens her and she leaves the room. Mutsuku grabs her hand and takes her to room with a large fish tank. Sayaka falls into a large fish tank after Mutsuku cuts her and is devoured by Haru.
Kouga and Zaruba find the original gate for Haru as Haru takes on a new form.
Zaruba and Kouga scan the city as Mitsuru kidnaps Kasumi. As Kouga stops Mitsuru, he must let him go as the act does not directly involve a horror.
Haru gets Mitsuru to promise to always protect her. She asks Mitsuru for one more body.
Kouga reluctantly asks Kaoru to do a drawing for him. Mitsuru sees her and asks her to draw her pet.
As Kouga follows Kaoru and Mitsuru, he is attacked by Horrors, since Kaoru has become too effective bait.
Mitsuru drags Kaoru to the fish tank and cuts her as Kouga comes in to rescue her. Kouga cuts the tank and slays Haru, who it being protected by Mitsuru. Kouga knocks Mitsuru out. As Kaoru tries to explain that humans aren't perfect. Haru's slain head tells Kaoru the truth about why Kouga kept her alive. A hurt Kaoru asks if Kouga would protect her, to which he stayed silent, before she asks him to take off her ring. Kaoru runs away, leaving behind her drawing pad.
