Fujiwara no Yasusuke (藤原 保輔 ) is a member of the Fujiwara clan despite not feeling like a noble like the rest of his kin, later forfeiting his title while donning the alias of Hakamadare (袴垂 ). He later became the Makai Knight known as Zanga the White Lotus Knight, inheriting the title and armor from a distant relative.
Personality[]
As an aristocrat, he is a firm and honorable character who has a soft spot for the common people and never looks down on people who are of lower social status. After he becomes the thief Hakamadare, he adopts a brash and aggressive personality, and is now openly disdainful of the aristocracy, making scornful remarks at them whenever a chance to do so presents itself.
History[]
As the story opens, Yasusuke is a member of the Heian-kyō police force who is overcome with the pressures of his lineage and the aristocracy's neglect of common citizens. Yasusuke relinquishes his title and name to become the bandit leader Hakamadare to steal from the rich.
His exploits as Hakamadare soon caught the attention of his long lost relative, Tokitada, who sees his worth as his successor as both of them cast aside their tainted aristocratic life for a more righteous cause. Tokitada and Goruba then invited the young man and taught him the basics of the way of Makai Knights including how to properly handling Soul Metal. Yasusuke is visibly less than thrilled by this newfound privilege but nevertheless embraced his destiny as a Makai Knight.

- Makai Knight Training: Yasusuke was a skilled member of the Heian-kyō police force before he began his training as a Makai Knight. After his training Hakamadare became an incredibly skilled Makai Knight. On top of his swordsmanship, Hakamadare is a master archer.
