Horror's Claw (ホラーの爪, Horā no Tsume) is an artifact which inspired the development of Soul Metal in Original Series.
Overview[]
As its name suggested, Horror's Claw is the disembodied arm of an unidentified Horror which had since fossilized and fused with earthen matter from magma expelled by a volcanic eruption long ago. It was found by a knight who then used it to gain an edge in combating darkness upon noticing Horrors' aversion upon the artifact's presence, wearing it as sort of amulet.
The tale about the knight's exploits reached Makai Order with Horror's Claw itself made its way into its possession some time afterwards. That was the moment priests of the Order discovered the artifact's unique properties provided them the alternative to the power of Dragon Knight it failed to acquire from the war against Edel. It was through subsequent further study and efforts in recreating the artifact in controlled environment Soul Metal came to being.
