Sōgoku was a oni-like Horror that possessed the body of Jihō, a Buddhist monk who despised the Light Palace for their reliance on onmyōji instead of Buddhism. He is able to turn his right hand into a mallet that is capable of shrinking people and objects.

History[]
As he was nearing death, Jihō was approached by Ashiya Dōman and fell prey to his temptation, becoming Sōgoku as he became possessed by an Inga Horror. After attacking the Light Palace and kidnapping some of its residents for later consumption, he attracted the attention of Raikou, Seimei, and Kintoki. Sōgoku was then ambushed the following night by Raikou and Kintoki, but he manages to shrink Raikou and escape. When Yorinobu went to the temple to check on Jihō's well being, he discovered Jihō's dark secret and escaped to tell Raikou. With Yorinobu's discovery, the group set up a trap for Sōgoku, which causes Raikou to get swallowed by the Horror, allowing him to don the Garo armor and slay him from inside.
