The Karakuri are the personal foot soldiers and "family" of legendary Horror Legules.

Karakuri are created out of regular Horrors, converted by Legules' with his demonic masks. Like regular Horrors, they are able to possess humans and take control of them. However, Karakuri seems to be unable to blend in naturally compared to their regular counterparts. Their movements are stiff and mechanical, but they have great regenerative capabilities. Although they have humanoid arms, they reveal bladed weapons as arms and have the ability to cloak themselves invisibly to avoid visual detection. However, that's only effective towards inexperienced targets as Makai Knights and Priests have weapons and tools designed to detect and reveal such things. Even without their tools, veterans against the darkness can sense their dark presence. Their combat potential and strength is not above a regular Horror, but Horrors act independently as these Horrors serve a master. They do not speak, but merely make sounds and shift their eye sockets up and down as they react to their environment. Their body parts are known to function on their own even though if dismembered. These minions are most dangerous when attacking in large numbers and Legules deploys them in large numbers for him to succeed in his mission. The greatest weakness of this creature is its link to Legules. If the ancient horror is defeated, every karakuri will self-destruct.

  • Cloaking: They have the ability to be invisible, but it's not a passive ability. If they engage in combat, they have to switch off their cloaking to take on the target.
  • Regenerating: They have a greater ability to regenerate from mortal injuries than typical Horrors.

  • Karakuri Mask: Their mask is the source of their power and weakness. Once the mask is put on, it can't be taken back. The Horror is transformed permanently into a family member of Legules and will be enhanced for combat. However, its power is tied to Legules; if Legules is killed, all Karakuri will instantly explode.
  • Hand Blades: Their hands can transform into katar-like weapons for melee combat. They are strong as makai blades and can only be stopped by destroying the body of the karakuri.
