Welcome![edit source]

Hi Taikage -- we are excited to have GARO Wiki as part of the Wikia community! Thanks for joining us, and we'd like to give you some tips to help you get started on making your wiki great.

Your first four steps:[edit source]

1. Create your User Page - this is a great place to introduce yourself (and practice wiki-editing!)

2. Add a logo - learn how to create a logo image, then click here to add it to the wiki.

Create an article on this wiki:

<createbox> width=30

3. Create your first 10 articles - use the box on the right to create ten pages, starting each one off with a few sentences. For example if you are starting a wiki on a TV show, you might create an article for each main character.

4. Edit your Main Page - click your logo, and make sure your front page has internal links ([[like this]]) to the ten articles you just created, and any other improvements you can think of.

Once you've done these four things, you've created a great starting point -- your wiki looks friendly and ready for visitors. You can then invite some friends to help you create the next twenty pages, and expand the ones you've built.

Keep going! The more pages you create and link to each other, the sooner that others who are searching for "GARO Wiki" will be able find your project in search engines, read your content and join you in editing.

If you have more questions, we've provided a full set of help pages, or you can email us through our contact form. Don't forget to check out other wikis on Wikia for ideas on layout, organizing your pages, and more. Have fun!

Best wishes, Catherine Munro

Message from Dchallofjustice[edit source]

As posted on the front page's talk page: Hello. I'm Chris, or DcHallofJustice of the Tokusatsu wikis currently active on wikia. I'd like to propose a merger into Tokupedia of this and some other wikis in order to create a larger, better-maintained database of all things wiki. Currently I and the team are taking care of the Power Rangers wiki, the Kamen Rider wiki, the Metal Heroes wiki and others. If there are any admins active, I'd like to discuss this. Dchallofjustice (talk) 08:20, 1/4/2013

Oh well, actually I was wondering if you'd want this wiki merged into the larger Tokupedia wiki. Or would you rather keep it separate? User:Dchallofjustice 19:08, January 18, 2013 (UTC)

That's okay, I believe GARO shouldn't be diluted and it deserves its own devoted wikia page. Because I'm very busy at the moment, this site has been run'n rather wild and uncontrolled, but I'll correct those problems in the future. Thanks for your time though. Taikage (talk) 07:30, January 19, 2013 (UTC)

Tokupedia Partnership[edit source]

Hello. I am Aldo The Fox, junior administrator of Tokupedia and head admin of the Tokusatsu Fanon Wiki. Me and my fellow Admins would like to discuss with you about joining Tokupedia, the hub for all things Tokusatsu!

Unlike my senior colleague's previous proposal months prior, I wish to form an alliance with your wiki. We have partnered with various tokusatsu wikis including Wikizilla and Ultraman Wiki by helping them and making them easier to locate on a central hub for tokusatsu related Wikis. All Founders and Admins keep full autonomy of their wikis and maintain them to the best of their ability. We would like to discuss this further with you, so please let me know when you are available so we can schedule a chat session.

Thank You for your time and Happy Editing!~
Aldo The Fox (talk) 16:47, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
On Aldo's request, I made a logo for you. Garo's logo is in a font similar to Futura, so I used that.
Digifiend (talk) 18:31, July 12, 2013 (UTC)
I added the Portal to the main page for the other Tokusatsu partners. This lets people know we are in the same group and genre of wikis and makes navigating them easier. I hope you don't mind the changes.
Aldo The Fox (talk) 12:45, July 13, 2013 (UTC)

Digifiend: I'm grateful for your assistance in creating a logo for the wiki. If possible and at your convenience, could you later create one that mirrors closer to the Garo title and font style? I always wanted to possibly put a Garo head icon for the logo. However, if it can't be done, I'm still grateful for all your work! Thanks! Taikage (talk) 06:42, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

The English text already is close to the font style of the official GARO logo (It's some sort of Futura variant). The Japanese text behind it, in the series logo seems to be brush strokes. I don't believe I have a suitable font installed for that.

Digifiend (talk) 16:23, July 16, 2013 (UTC)

hello my name is marcos,i living in brazil,u are the creator of this page?

Are you available?[edit source]

Mr. Taikage, may I have a word with you in chat for a brief moment?

It's about one of your users...I had a little..problem with him. If you are unable to come, please visit the chatroom tomorrow or reply here when you have time. The Fox (talk) 01:42, May 7, 2015 (UTC)

Update: Sorry to bother you, It was just a minor issue involving the plagiarism of material from our wiki by a user. Mostly some text that I wrote and a few screencapped photos I took. We took care of it by blocking the user. Thank you for your time anyways, and I hope to speak with you in June.--Aldo The Fox (talk) 16:23, May 7, 2015 (UTC)

Vanishing Line Contributions[edit source]

I hope it's all right, but I figured if having actual profile pose art for the Vanishing Line armors revealed so far and the few Horrors from the first episodes before the actual story kicked in.

I also hoped for translation of the stuff too, which is why I posted these.

Oogundam (talk) 09:07, January 7, 2018 (UTC)

I don't have a problem with anything you add as long as it's good work. Showing magazine scans like this is fine, just put it under "Articles & References" as proof of what you're talking about. For future situations, you don't need to talk to me about these things.

Taikage (talk) 17:50, January 7, 2018 (UTC)

Hey! Noise-kun here[edit source]

Hi! I'm the guy who posted the "Sword Garo Armor" and the unused Kiba Lost Soul design, is not the best of the works, but I did what I could with those sloppy scans, I also has one of "Zaruba Motorcycle" and "Dark knight", but those are waaayyyy tricky and the end result is far from ideal, I supose that I should post them eventually, but just so you know that I would put them eventually

Noise-kun, you've done some brilliant work and I'm sure you're doing your best with those scans. Don't bend over backwards too hard for the sake of those pics if you can't get them going. I've struggled there and found the process frustrating myself. I'm grateful for all your contributions. Keep up the good work! Taikage (talk) 11:25, January 9, 2018 (UTC)

New to this Wikia[edit source]

Mind if I take my work from the other wikia? Also would you mind if I make new pages out of pages that were already made, and then change them? I need like a sentence frame, some sort of outline. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 00:35, January 13, 2018 (UTC)

I personally don't care. I only ask you to be more original as time goes on. I try to be classy and avoid mutual plagiarism. Taikage (talk) 01:38, January 13, 2018 (UTC)

Is it still plagiarism if I take my own work? Because I don't like working on the same article twice. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 01:43, January 13, 2018 (UTC)

In the publishing world, that's a technical yes. However, I'm not going to pick a bone about it. I've been in your situation before as well. That's how I learned you can technically plagiarize after I got flagged for it by an admin. It's okay here though, I'm not going to police it unless it threatens the well-being of the site. Taikage (talk) 01:52, January 13, 2018 (UTC)

Table[edit source]

I am so sorry I ask to much, but can you help me with the tables? The table that shows on Zem page is like this:

But I want it to be part of the Garo Animation:

About Chris' Makai Armor[edit source]

Taikage, sorry about misunderstanding about page of Chris' Makai Armor (which i previously named Knight (Makai Armor). I found no one yet to made that page, so I made it, though this also caused misunderstanding due to I used temporary name.

Sorry about that. Black Soulstone (talk) 15:08, March 13, 2018 (UTC)

I was waiting on the official title of the armor. You know Makai Knights and their armors have separate identities. This armor is supposedly the Silver Knight Armor, suggestively Zero. However, since it was never officially named as Zero and Garm showed up in this story suggests it might be Zoro. I had hoped to wait it out to see how would things pan out. No offense, but Chris' Makai Armor sounds horrible! Why don't we call it Dark Knight or Dark Knight Armor since that's what the other characters call him? Taikage (talk) 04:42, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

It does an official name, just not an official English translation/approximation. , select "Character" and choose Knight. The second sentence below his birthday cointains his previous title. Use Google Translate. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 05:49, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

I agree with you, Taikage. In retrospect, I even found Chris' Makai Armor indeed sounds horrible. Dark Knight indeed more proper name.

Um, do you think Dark Knight armor is Vanishing Line's version of Kiba?Black Soulstone (talk) 07:40, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

I used google translate and they simply referred the character as Dark Knight. This is pretty much to what I've been talking about. Taikage (talk) 15:44, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Taikage, thank you for actually doing it, but this is what I meant:

MutantNinja3636 (talk) 18:57, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

I saw that too and don't believe for second that the knight is called Borg. Shocking Knight Borg, sounds so robotic and not even related to the Garo story in anyway. I would like some confirmation over the details if possible. Any fan sites out there that bothered to translate or talk about it? Can we at least agree to keep it temporarily Dark Knight and wait for more info to come out? The ending is almost here, I'm actually hoping the armor will be cleansed by the ending. I was annoyed that Luke had access to so many Makai Blades and decided not keep a single one to take on a new title or even save the weapons and return it to the order for new knights. What a complete waste! Taikage (talk) 01:56, March 15, 2018 (UTC)

Why would he need a new makai blade? He just needs his dad's, probably when Knight gets defeated, Luke will finally move on from the "Makai Knight-sort of PTSD" he has. And there's also the Makai Armor from the "Demon Sealer", I don't think that is going to be forgotten, since it actually got an illustration and not just a mention. Also, since Vanishing Line is doing better than Crimson Moon, it might actually get a movie.         MutantNinja3636 (talk) 02:13, March 15, 2018 (UTC)

Well Garoseries.wikia confirmed the details. Knight Unfortunately, it is indeed named Borg. So the original armor is Howling Knight Borg (aka Silver Knight - WTF!?). We're about 3 weeks until the finale and it will being the live action series, I think. I'm not sure, but if it's like Gold Storm, there should be a continuation after the events of the movie about Kiba's return. Taikage (talk) 02:21, March 15, 2018 (UTC)

Insight Page[edit source]

I have been checking the insight page to fix things. The majority is broken links, but I been fixing it and it doesn't update. It keeps showing the same amount of needed pages and it still shows the Redlinks even though no page link them anymore.

MutantNinja3636 (talk) 19:04, March 17, 2018 (UTC)

Sorry to hear that. I have little power over that myself. It could be a system matter. Give it another go the follow day and see what happens.

Makai Blade[edit source]

Taikage, does Makai Blade have various types each with abilities of their own (aside harming Horror and sealing their essence)? I wondering cuz some of those blades such as Garoken have abilities to summon their respective Makai Armor while others lacked such ability.

Please reply soon!Black Soulstone (talk) 23:06, March 20, 2018 (UTC)

All makai blades do the same shit, just how the blades are fashioned. Spears obviously give longer range, while a saber and straight sword have their respective specialties, but the blades themselves are of the same purpose, nothing special. As for summoning, what are you talking about? The last 2 lines didn't make sense to me, please elaborate.

Taikage (talk) 01:49, March 21, 2018 (UTC)

I asked cuz when Raiga Saejima and Kouga Saejima summon Garo armor, they clearly utilize Garoken to do so. Does ability to summon the armor came from Garoken itself or Raiga and Kouga merely need Garoken as focus to create dimensional rift from which Garo armor popped out? This is part that confuse me.Black Soulstone (talk) 02:32, March 21, 2018 (UTC)

Eiji Transform Giru gif.gif

All knights have the ability magically summon their armor without their sword, but from observation, it can be done if it's already in their hand. They would typically use their swords to summon it, but in emergency situations, they can will it to come to them. I don't know about untitled knights, but definitely all titled knights can summon their armors by sheer will. If you look at Giru, Kiba, and Zero, they can all do it.

Taikage (talk) 03:44, March 21, 2018 (UTC)

Oh yeah, I see. I just remember when Taiga and Kouga summon Garo armor, thhey display skill to initially summon the armor's gauntlets first before summon the rest of armor parts. I also remember Kuro once disengage gauntlet of Crow armor to safely touch Mayuri when saving her.

Thanks for the explanation, Taikage. Black Soulstone (talk) 07:03, March 21, 2018 (UTC)

Ady Slate Horror Origin[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

I just rewatched Fossil, episode 1 of Garo: Makai no Hana to verify origin of Eyrith and learned that legendary flower-like Horror's origin was narrated to be like this:

"Once in Human Realm, there was a destructive flower that brought calamity. Its name was Eyrith. Our ancestors split that flower into nine Horrors to make their evil more manageable and seal them in a stone slab. Unknown to people, it was interred deep in the earth. But time passed, and it was awakened by humans once more. A stone slab with evil sealed within. People believe it to be nothing more than an ancient relic. And now..."

—Mayuri narrating origin of Eyrith.

That first episode narrated Eyrith's origin that way, which means those nine Ady Slate Horrors intentionally used to seal Eyrith because they literally part of Eyrith's essence (though only one of them who carry the legendary Horror's seed), not because converted by Eyrith as her extension or something.

What do you think? Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 12:44, March 21, 2018 (UTC)

Well a horror itself can consume other horrors or actually be a fusion of several, acting as a singular being. If the quote is accurate, than the Ady Slate Horrors are actually pieces of Eyrith as an overall whole, but parts of her were magically re-purposed to seal her instead.

You were right!!!! All animes are in the same time. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 22:49, March 23, 2018 (UTC)

Alchemy and Makai Alchemist[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

I have curious question about Makai Alchemist. I know they actually anime series counterpart of Makai Priest and dubbed Makai Alchemist due to creative translation decision, but does Makai Alchemists also refer such due to possessing genuine skill in Alchemy? I find some of them hinted to have alchemy skills, particulary ones in GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames.

Please reply soon! Black Soulstone (talk) 10:39, March 25, 2018 (UTC)

Really? Do you have any examples? Cause Alchemy would require them to magically reform materials into other objects like Red Mask making his automatons out of mountain stone. So far, what I've seen is magical summoning. I see magical portals being made to pull out weapons, but I haven't see one doing it like Full Metal Alchemist. I've so far seen Vanishing Line and Divine Flame, but not the 2nd series yet. Taikage (talk) 16:00, March 25, 2018 (UTC)

I personally not so sure whether it's true. Correct me if I wrong, as I remember when Zaruba was forged in The Carved Seal of Flames, it involves usage of complicated tools. And then in Vanishing Line, I remember an episode where Gina utilize vials of potion against horrors (she even lend one to sophie before fighting one).

Does Zaruba's creation and Gina's potion usage involves alchemy? I might mistaking it related to alchemy. Black Soulstone (talk) 00:03, March 26, 2018 (UTC)

I'll double check on that matter. Zaruba's creation seems to be a magical one. Gina's use of potion could be considered alchemy since old fashion alchemy tend to confuse with modern chemistry. Could you give me the episode number?

Taikage (talk) 00:48, March 26, 2018 (UTC)

Episode 3 of Garo: The Carved Seal of Flames and episode 5 and 13 of Garo: Vanishing Line. Those episodes implies Makai Alchemists have actual skills in alchemy for me. Try to check them, buddy. Black Soulstone (talk) 00:57, March 26, 2018 (UTC)

So, how is it, buddy?

Black Soulstone (talk) 10:34, March 27, 2018 (UTC)

Apologies, but I'm swamped with work and personal matters right now. I'll get to it asap.

Taikage (talk) 14:00, March 27, 2018 (UTC)

Alchemy was ancient description of modern chemistry, but in the Garo-verse, I tend to judge anything chemical with magical uses as alchemy as well. Gina seems to be using magical based chemicals, so I could consider that alchemy. As for her fight against a deity, she used a heavy load of summoning spells and magics, but she didn't form a single weapon from raw materials around like Fullmetal Alchemist. Ultimately, since Alchemy and chemistry are one and the same in the real world, any chemical usage can be deemed valid. And yes, Zaruba's restoration seems to be alchemy based.

Taikage (talk) 15:41, March 27, 2018 (UTC)

Madō Jewelry[edit source]

My next question is about Madō Jewelry like Zaruba and Silva which acts as Horror detector and advisors for Makai Knights in Original Universe and Ryūga-verse. Does those Madō Jewelries' sentience was given by infusing them with pacified essence of Horrors during their creation?

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 01:51, March 28, 2018 (UTC)

That was only confirmed in the anime universe, but the live action never mentioned how they were made. Those things are made by individual priests, so each of them had their own method of making things. Zaruba alone seems like one of the most powerful ring out there as he has some ridiculous features that other jewelry don't even have. If you remember Colt, Kouga was wary of of Leo Fudō using a pacified horror as Colt's energy core. Either Kouga has a double standard or the ring is made of something else. I'm actually hoping future live action series will finally feature a priest making a fresh one. It would resolve a lot of mysteries.

Taikage (talk) 02:19, March 28, 2018 (UTC)

I understand. Let me know if there are confirmation about it. Black Soulstone (talk) 05:35, March 28, 2018 (UTC)

Lukather Harden's Makai Armor[edit source]

Luke's Makai Armor

Hi, Taikage. I see that Luke eventually acquired his Makai Armor following both Christopher Harden and Bolg Armor's destruction. Does his armor is generic Makai Armor? I kind of wish made a page about it.

Please reply soon! Black Soulstone (talk) 08:45, April 2, 2018 (UTC)

His armor isn't generic, it's a titled armor. From what I can tell, it's related to the episode about the Demon Sealer.

Taikage (talk) 19:08, April 2, 2018 (UTC)

Titled armor? You mean his armor was belonged to deceased Demon Sealer's or rather its sister armor like Bado with Baron armor?Black Soulstone (talk) 22:50, April 2, 2018 (UTC)

Luke somewhere and somehow picked up a retractable Ninjato Makai Blade. From what I can tell, it's related to the episode where he found the Demon Sealer. All generic, untitled armors are non-special, it's literally a bland and boring armor; it's a mass production armor for the weaker knights. The strongest tend to have unique armors and this qualifies.

Taikage (talk) 02:38, April 3, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, yeah, I remember. Non-titled makai armor looked pale than their titled Variant. I have checked the image of Demon Slayer in his makai armor on and his armor looked different. Do you think Luke got his armor from the same place where Demon Sealer seal the demon at cost of his life?

And an unrelated question: Does Makai Blade more commonly designed as swords? I found only few Makai Knights whose Makai Blade have different designs like Tsubasa's whose Makai Blade designed to looked like a spear with retractable blade, Aguri Kuzugami's being bow with makai blades and Daigo's whose Makai Blade designed into axe.

Black Soulstone (talk) 04:29, April 3, 2018 (UTC)

The short answer to your question about makai blades is yes. For the in depth explanation, the non-titled all uses a standard straight sword. The titled are more special, like sabers, scimitars, bows, axe, and spears. They all have a soul metal blade to magically open the rift to summon their armors, but at times, just because they have a sword doesn't mean it will remain one when it transforms.

As for Luke, he entered a cave filled with over 20+ blades from previous knights that had fallen against a corrupted knight. If it's not the original demon sealer's blade, he could've easily picked one up. We need to re-watch the episode to visually confirm.

05:43, April 3, 2018 (UTC)

Don't forget about Kiba and his Harmonica thingy!!!! Lol MutantNinja3636 (talk) 07:14, April 3, 2018 (UTC)

Yeah, that was the weirdest thing ever. As far as I can tell, that was just lazy and budget editing. From the established story, Barago's own dad is an untitled knight. Based on the illustrations, it suggests Barago acquired his armor from his fallen dad. Although his dad had no title, his armor was uniquely made. They also just controlled the camera angle to make sure you don't see the whole armor because it was just Kiba straight up. It was the first series when they were still struggling.

Taikage (talk) 19:30, April 3, 2018 (UTC)

Demon Beast Armor[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

We got at least two individual in GARO series who possesses a type of armor which comparable to Makai Armor called Demon Beast Armor; Kodama from Original Series and Jinga from Ryūga-verse. What do you know about Demon Beast Armor? I once thought Jinga's armored form (depicted as red-headed horned demon with black suit of armor) being his traditional Demon Beast Form similar to Horrors who assume true demonic form in combat, but then I realized that Jinga spent most of his screentime in his human form and began suspecting that Jinga's natural Horror form being HIS human form all along with his horned demon form only a suit of armor he wear. I then realized that Kodama might not actual Horror but have Horror-esque armor he don when combating Garo and Zero.

So, does it mean Demon Beast Armors Jinga and Kodama possess respectively are actually suits of armor forged out of dark power which endow the wearer power comparable to Makai Knights' Makai Armors?

Black Soulstone (talk) 07:05, April 4, 2018 (UTC)

Kodama and Gulm are magically enhanced humans that uses external demon based armor as an alternative to Makai Armor. Soul metal takes years to master, only certain priests reached to some degree of mastery in the live action series. As an alternative, if certain individuals aren't afraid of using demons as a material medium, they can use that to create a bio-synthetic armor that mimics most of what Makai Armors can do without time limit concerns.

Jinga is a different class of horror. It has been established that even though horrors can take over a human and become a demon beast, there are those that have willed beyond even a horror's control. A human can over power a horror's control and take over instead. Both Jinga and Amily are technically horrors that have overwhelming will over their demons inside. When Jinga transforms, it seems to be a modified version of his own body. Horrors tend to take a theme of the object they posses, in this case, the horror took a knight and he in turn had a demon beast form that has armor-like qualities. He's not the first horror that has an armored warrior form, but the way he talks, he implies somehow his demon beast form is his armor. It was never fully clarified what Jinga's demon beast form really means. My educated guess is that once he became a horror, he modified his body to have armor-like qualities to still fight like a knight: an Armored Demon Beast Vs Demon Beast Armor. However, he has a flight mode, something not seen in many horrors as they don't usually have a second form. He's like Ultraman Tiga, where he has an armored form for power-based combat and a flight form for high speed combat. As for Octavia, the anime's rules are different, but it seems you can bond soul metal to a person to make them into a demon beast. Does that make everything clear?

Taikage (talk) 19:34, April 7, 2018 (UTC)

Yes. You have a point.

Out of known Demon Beast Armor users, I personally found Jinga being interesting one. As you said, he has 2 modes of his Demon Beast Armor: Non-flight version for power-based combat and a flight form for high speed combat. You also said he implies his demon beast form is his armor as well. Believe it or not, when I learned that he has demon beast armor, I thought Jinga's demonic form that looked like demonic version of Makai Armor with red helmet and retractable wings is actually external demon based armor on the same type with Kodama and Gulm's forged with Amily's assistance as replacement of Makai Armor he can no longer don since his transformation. My said assumption was reinforced by him activates Demon Beast Armor only in battle.

Do you once feel the same way as I do? Just curious.

Black Soulstone (talk) 15:12, April 8, 2018 (UTC)

I had mixed ideas myself, but I re-watched both the Original Series and Ryūga-verse a few times to get clarity on things. Jinga always implied that he has his own armor, but I keep thinking that's not completely true. He definitely a horror, one that eats other horrors too. All horrors have a demon beast form, no matter how strong willed the person may be, they will reveal a demonic form. Jinga was supposed to be one of the best knights before his corruption and a lot of his attitude as a knight hasn't changed much except for his hatred against humanity. It's also obvious Amily has helped enhanced him for combat with her knowledge of magic as well. So I believe he's a demon beast that psychologically considers his armored demon beast form as his armor than being his true demonic form.

Taikage (talk) 16:19, April 8, 2018 (UTC)

Considering his horror form have exoskeleton as durable as Makai Armors, immediately revert to human form when weakened, and assuming his horror form right during the combat and spent most of his time in human form, it's true. Through this discussion, i found nature of his armored form reminiscent to Alex Mercer's armor power from PROTOTYPE game (both Jinga and Alex's armored form gained through body modificationthough Alex's being 100% biological).

Unrelated question: Does Soul Metal mastery in anime more easier in anime series than live-action series? I remember in episode 5 of GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames, when Alphonso attempted to hold Gaia's sword for the first time, he ended up fell to his knees due to the blade proved heavy for him as expected from those who never wield soul metal, but few episodes later, he able to lift it like feather.

Black Soulstone (talk) 08:14, April 9, 2018 (UTC)

Soul Metal mastery varies and works to fit in the plot. If you saw Divine Flame, Roberto never held his father's Zoro Daggers until Sir Venus showed up and when it was time to pick it up, he did so on first try at 3-4 yrs old. Octavia's Maju Armor was composed of soul metal, also mastered on first try. Then there was that example you gave, which is more consistent to the original lore. It would've made grander sense if they all had training with trainee swords and worked their way up, but apparently a lot intense physical exercise will do the trick.

Taikage (talk) 10:03, April 9, 2018 (UTC)

Made sense.

Mastery over Soul Metal with trainee makai blades and intense physical exercise might be secret for Roberto and Octavia to easily wield their respective Soul Metal weapons as you said. Although, it appeared that difficulty level of mastering Soul Metal weapon & armor in anime was lower than live-action series as Kouga took years for able to wielding Garoken while Roberto and Alphonso might few days.

Although, I found getting used in wielding multiple soul metal weapons at once also the key in mastering them cuz I remember while Octavia able to master her Soul Metal-based Majuu armor on the first try, she had difficulty in wielding Alphonso' Gaia blade while wearing the said armor at the same time which Alphonso exploit in Episode 23 of Honoo no Kokuin.

Do you agree with me?

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:51, April 9, 2018 (UTC)

Indeed the requirements are less strict. Alfonso never touched soul metal and only worked with trainee tools up until Rafael was at his life's limit and officially relinquished his armor to the prince. Suddenly, just after a few weeks of intense workout sessions, he can miraculously hold Gaia-ken. Don't forget, the user's will is placed onto the metal too. If the knight wills it to be heavy, it can be several times heavy that a strong person have trouble lifting it.

Taikage (talk) 12:05, April 9, 2018 (UTC)

I aware with that fact.

But it led to a question which bothered me since the first time I watch Garo anime. I saw Leon and Alphonso somewhat gains great deal of power boost while donning Garo and Gaia armor respectively. I mean, their already considerable speed, power, and agility somewhat increased once donning their armor. Does they gain the said power boost by placing their will on those armors like manipulating weight of soul metal-based armor/weapons? And do you feel Makai Knights' combat abilities in armored form in anime somewhat exaggerated than their live-action counterparts?

Black Soulstone (talk) 12:32, April 9, 2018 (UTC)

Yes on both counts. Soul metal can be magically manipulated with its weight (pseudo gravity powers), so this gives the user gravity defying abilities, including varying degrees of charged speed and power. During Garo Vs Zero, their weapons can be willed to fly and fight each other. When they become Lost Soul Beasts, they can either fly or at least defy gravity. Hell we've seen Zex's madoba transform into a massive power drill.

Octavia's Transformation[edit source]

Octavia Transforms GARO.gif

Taikaga, I just made a partially complete gif of Octavia's transformation from episode 22 of GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames. What do you think? Do you able to make more complete gif than mine?

Please reply soon! Black Soulstone (talk) 13:20, April 6, 2018 (UTC)

Octavia Transform GIF.gif

I did the best I could, I couldn't find a sub that allowed me to remove the subtitles. All you really need to do is have VLC Player, a movie editor (like Windows Movie Maker), and a media converter. VLC has a recording feature that records the moments you want and then you can use the movie editor to make the clips you want fit in and you can finish it with the converter.

Taikage (talk) 21:13, April 6, 2018 (UTC)

It's okay.

I found your handiwork for gif image of that scene is impressive. Good job! Black Soulstone (talk) 21:33, April 6, 2018 (UTC)

Makai Armor questions[edit source]

Taikage, I'm curious about how Makai Armor's corruption process worked out. I remember Barago corrupted his Kiba armor by overcoming his Lost Soul Beast form through will it with darkness of his heart (contrasting Raiga who channeled light of his heart to overcome Garo's Lost Soul Beast into Light Awakening Beast Form), but how Zex, Zem, and Bolg was corrupted? It was shown that wearing Makai Armors for too long will harm the wearer and threaten to crush him to death instead of triggering Lost Soul Beast transformation.

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:27, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

The best way to answer that is remembering Baron. Wataru Shijima suffered a form of personality corruption, in which his heart and mind lost balance and his darker nature took over. So whenever he transformed, the armor had a dark aura around him. I call this a "lighter version" of a dark knight. Then there's Kiba and Bolg, both knights tangled with the dark arts and completely submitted themselves into darkness in exchange for greater power. I consider that going "full dark." Both Baron and Zex had a chance of redemption as their corruption isn't so bad. Once their hearts and minds were alleviated of their darkness, they just returned to normal. With Zem, he suffered a form of self guilt and shame and use those dark emotions to fuel himself. He delusionally believed he could revive Sara and make her whole again, only to be absorbed by the horror itself. Kiba and Bolg are beyond redemption, both completely submitted to the darkness. Kiba used his darkness and greed for power and Messiah helped remove all sources of light out of his soul to insure a man of complete darkness. Bolg was possessed by a horror, you can say he's another Kiba. Though he studied the dark arts for power, in the ending, it has been revealed there was a horror inside him. Suggestively, his exploration into the dark arts had him lose control and taken over by a horror that brought out the worst side of him, but his will kept his human side the dominate state. Does that make sense to you?

Taikage (talk) 15:40, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

Yes. You're right. And I found Bolg's case being unique one as while his power hunger led to him possessed by a Horror, it supposedly stripped him his ability to don his armor like Jinga, but his said will keep his human side dominant enough to retain his ability to summon his armor. When Sword finally struck him down, horror who supposedly possessed him but trapped inside him briefly fly out of his body before disipated.

Um, I got an unrelated question: Does Gulm and Barago's murder on Dōji Suzumura and Shizuka was deliberately to frame Garo which led Rei aka. Zero too busy in antagonizing Kouga that neither knights aware with what's going on? I mean, I have this theory cuz when Kouga and Rei make amends and become allies, their common enemy already a step ahead before them. Also, Gulm seems take pleasure taunting Rei about the said murder as well. Not to mention she and Barago stole some of Doji's vial of potions which Rei later discovered in Gulm's post.

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 16:23, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

This is the way I understood it. Barago acquired his armor from his untitled father and it should've been a generic armor, but if you look closely, it was Kiba all the way. They were on a production budget and did controlled camera shots to make Kiba's armor look different (un-corrupted), but a few freeze frames and you'll see they never bothered to make a light and dark version for Kiba's armor. What I thought they did was make an anti-Garo armor and it wasn't planned to set Garo up, Kiba never cared about it, never once implied it as part of his ploy. I always saw it as Kiba killing Rei's family for the shape shifting potion and his armors shadow sorta look like Garo. Silva was the one who pointed it out, but the dumb part is, any one that knows about Garo knows his golden armor shines really bright, not dark. However, the Garo look-alike was the only clue to their deaths and Rei decided to take his anger out on Kouga without proper investigation. If he formally reported this to the Makai Order and told them what happened, there should've been a Senatorial Knight or some investigator to look into the matter and resolved it. Instead, Rei just chose to believe he made the right mark and he'll harass Kouga the whole time. Although not intended, Gulm and Barago took advantage of Rei's rage and directed him to Kouga.

Taikage (talk) 21:52, April 10, 2018 (UTC)

It might not too dumb if Silva turned out either never actually seen Garo that made her mistaken Kiba as Golden Knight and appearance of Kiba's sword which almost identical to Garoken except black didn't help, but you have a point. Had Barago and Gulm's murder on Doji and Shizuka deliberately to frame Kouga, Rei won't be only one who harass Kouga.

Next questions:

A. About Lukather Harden's new Makai Armor. In Demon Sealer episode, I remembered that the weapons he touched during the fight against Armor Horror was a western long sword and a glaive. I don't even remember there's a ninjato among scattered swords around that Horror. Do you think he got the new armor from Ferre Salé Dessimo?

B. About Zaruba's recovery into improved Mado Motorcycle in Episode 22 of Vanishing Line. Did Sword have Gina send both his destroyed motorcycle and other remains of Zaruba to be sent to Ferre Salé Dessimo for reparation into better Mado Motorcycle? When the now motorcycle-Zaruba came to his and Sophie's rescue, Sword was not too surprised as if he expect Zaruba will return to him or something even as something else?

C. Does only Garo who can undergo Lost Soul Beast transformation in anime series? I felt it's possible other Makai Armors to have Lost Soul Beast form but such instance is very rare.

Black Soulstone (talk) 09:08, April 11, 2018 (UTC)

A. I re-watched that episode and also noticed the background was filled with western style swords and a glaive. What baffled me was that there was a quick flashback, showing how the knights were just being killed off and none of them bothered to transform. The fact they're wearing standard gear suggests they're either trainee knights or non-titled and got axed off. Not any of the weapons matched the blade Luke had in his hand; I'm also inclined to believe he got it from Ferre Salé Dessimo since they had a bunch of Makai Blades ready for immediate sale. For correction though, a Ninjato is a straight single edge blade and a Katana is a curved single edged sword. I got it mixed up myself because it looked straight on certain angles, please correct that when you can.

B. Both Gina's car and Sword's ride got destroyed while crossing through the badlands to make it to El Dorado. I was surprised how both nonchalantly just got their rides back, fully repaired. I honestly thought Zaruba was gone since Sword used the last of Zaruba's magic to enhance his armor, suddenly he's back and no longer a ring. The way I saw it, he made his surprise return and instead of being shocked, Sword was just happy to see Zaruba and his ride back. If he was expecting Zaruba back, he could've told Sophie about it as she felt guilty over Zaruba's demise the whole time and Sword isn't the sort of person that would let a person go through that. That's at least my take on it.

C. Now that they officially tied all the animes into a singular universe, starting with Crimson Moon, Divine Flame, and then Vanishing Line, then you know Garo was the only one that went through Lost Soul Beast due to the fact his flaming rage got the best of him. Because of how the flames was marked onto Leon, he will forever remember his mother in her final moments and the flames was supposed to protect him, but it requires great emotional balance to use it to his advantage. Instead, he often succumbs to his anger issues and the flames only increases his rage. Zaruba lost control, no longer able to contain his raging flames and that cause the armor to be overwhelmed with power and warped the armor into the Lost Soul Beast. Until something is written otherwise, it seems Lost Soul Beast is only unique to Garo in the anime universe and everyone else just gets a dark aura during corruption phase. Warning though, I never saw Crimson Moon, I don't know what's Rakou's deal on his Lost Soul Beast situation. I just know Seimei found him already covered in horrors.

Taikage (talk) 12:38, April 11, 2018 (UTC)

About Zaruba, I guess I didn't fully understanding his survivability cuz I watched it in english dub. Although, I understand why during his return he no longer a ring might have something to do with Sword using a piece of him for Garo's upgrade form.

Oh, I have watched Divine Flame and have confirmation about Zem Armor's fate. The armor may either useless or destroyed as its spear, which last seen staking Alphonso on a ruined pillar, disintegrated just as Dario Montoya got absorbed by Nigra Venus.

Um, is it possible to restore severely corrupted Makai Armor like Kiba to normal?

Black Soulstone (talk) 13:24, April 11, 2018 (UTC)

If Zem's weapon is destroyed, then the armor is lost. The blade is always tied to the weapon and I haven't seen a situation where a priest could correct such a situation. As for restoring corrupted armor, if it was like Baron, a simple reset will do. As for Kiba, that's considered irredeemable. I haven't seen a single case of a completely darkened knight nor its armor come back to the light in any shape or form.

Taikage (talk) 03:46, April 12, 2018 (UTC)

I've always wondered the exact mechanics of how the Armors work, how where they made, can they be restored & how dose the Soul Metal heal itself.

DJToku1992 (talk) 11:12, April 11, 2018 (UTC)

Up until episode 3 of ZERO: Dragon Blood, maintenance on Makai Armors and blades aside periodical purification was left mystery. Makai Armor does have regenerative ability that in spite of suffering tons of punishments, they always got fixed that ready to be used again when summoned. Zero revealed that Makai Armors can fix itself if damage, but user's will seemed have something to do with that as Rei willed hole on Zero armor to close itself. Damaged Makai armors might fixed by the user with the same feat. Willing soul metal based products to fix itself up may also how Knights keep their blades sharp.

Black Soulstone (talk) 13:11, April 12, 2018 (UTC)

I've found info on wikipedia that the mass produced Armors are call Hagane (鋼(ハガネ), Steel) is there where else you know of where i can confirm this? And if so do you think that means that the so-called titleless knights may in fact all share the the title of Steel Knight (鋼騎士, Hagane Kishi) or maybe (鋼鉄騎士, Kōtetsu Kishi).

DJToku1992 (talk) 22:20, April 11, 2018 (UTC)

You can try talking to the guys at TV-Nihon. They are heavily involved with Garo, they might know something on their boards. Good luck!

Taikage (talk)

Taikage, I got a curious question about Gai armor. We know the armor specializes in archery combat and utilizes arrows to combat horrors from distance. Does the tip of Gai's arrows are made of soul metal? I remember they can harm regular horror but useless against Mado Horrors.

Black Soulstone (talk) 07:30, April 17, 2018 (UTC)

From what I can tell, Gai fires some sort of magical arrows, but not a soul metal one. There was one specific episode where Burai actually gives Gai a soul metal arrow head specifically to defeat a horror. I have to double check, but his arrows are only effective towards weaker horrors and have almost no effect on the stronger ones. His full capabilities weren't really examined since that series was also on a budget. They only bothered to show his bow can turn into nunchucks in the last few seconds of the ending. I can only theorize that he uses the arrows like a hunter in real life, wound and slow down the target, then finish it off in person. They have the new movie and it should be out by like June or July, translated by TV-Nihon. I'm hoping by then they'll show something more since they have a bigger budget and better graphics this time around. Sometimes it helps to wait and see. Even Zen's armor has special abilities we haven't seen yet and they're finally going to show its full potential in the movie, where his armor can shoot out fire for a special attack.

By the way, if you got a new topic, try to start a new topic line. It's getting harder and harder to scroll down with all these big paragraphs.

Taikage (talk) 04:03, April 18, 2018 (UTC)

Ok. I also hoped the same thing on Zen's special powers. We might will see it in GARO: Fang of God.

Connection between Anime series and Raiga's Lost Soul Beast Case[edit source]

A. Does GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames, GARO: The Crimson Moon, and GARO: Vanishing Line truly set in same universe? If it's true, would it also means Garo armor in anime series truly undergo changes and improvements over the course of history of Makai Realm?

B. Is it possible if rage of knights who undergo Lost Soul Beast state redirected to unintended target? I remember in final episode of GARO: Flower of Makai, Eyrith provokes Garo (Raiga Saejima) by revealing her role in his parent's time displacement misfortune before quickly suck out remaining time of his armor where the process caused Raiga turned into Lost Soul Beast Garo. We know that Lost Soul Beast form of makai knight often focused their rage on their enemies as seen in case of Kouga and Rei, but Raiga is unusual case: He didn't completely consumed by rage and hatred while transformed, and even cried out to Mayuri and Crow to run for their lives as he struggle in rekindling his light just as his Lost Soul Form started its rampage. Moreover, Eyrith somehow redirected Raiga's inner rage to Raiga's friends instead of her in spite the fact that the Horror supposedly the intended target. Does it mean Eyrith did control Garo Armor's Lost Soul Beast form like a marionette or the ramoage was due to other factor? I even rewatched that episode to confirm it.

Black Soulstone (talk) 12:16, April 18, 2018 (UTC)

A: If you watched the final 3 episodes, especially the one when King reveals himself, he talks about that. King is a convert Horror that uses his intelligence to survive instead of power. An ancient horror, King showed in sequence that he has been around for centuries, starting with Crimson Moon, Divine Flame, then Vanishing Line. As further proof, Garm is actually running the kitchen inside the Diner where Sword eats. She was the one who reported to Sword how Lizzy died. Suggestively, since he's part of the Garo bloodline, that means all 3 heroes are related in some form.

B: I'll double check on that episode, but I last recall Lost Soul Beast mode, the person might yield to someone he deeply cares about, but even with friends, there's only rage and violence. Rei only yielded for Alice, but not for any of his own friends. Everything else is fair game and if the villain is smart, you'll throw a berserker against your enemies.

Makai Realm in Anime[edit source]

Taikage, does Makai Realm in anime series is Garo Anime series' iteration of purgatory? I mean when Dario attempted to revive Sara, he claimed he had to summon spirit of her soul. Then when Germán Luís was revived by Garm, she summoned his soul from makai realm as well. Dies those who killed by horrors woukd have their spirit went to Makai realm in anime or anime version of Makai realm is the place where souls of deceased went to akin to purgatory?

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:14, April 20, 2018 (UTC)

Depending where you translate it, the Makai Realm is the underworld. Depending on how you view the underworld, it can be considered hell or a place where the dead resides. It's neither heaven nor really hell, but it is another realm where the dead and various dark entities reside. Does that make sense?

Taikage (talk) 07:08, April 20, 2018 (UTC)

Good point. The same thing applies in live-action universe too, right?

Um, does crimson forest, the forest where barankas fruit grow located in makai realm? I asked cuz during his search for the fruit, he met Kaoru's astral form. Black Soulstone (talk) 07:19, April 20, 2018 (UTC)

If you saw the episode, it's a pathway in between the mortal realm and makai realm. It's an in-between world when the dying can reach.

Taikage (talk) 08:08, April 20, 2018 (UTC)

Mado Motorcycle[edit source]

We all know titled Makai Knight's steed is a Madōba, mechanical horse made of Soul Metal. This also applies in Anime, but since all 3 anime series turned out in same universe albeit in different timelines, Madoba also changes. But in vanishing line, it appeared they replaced by Mado Motorcycles which transforms when their knights don their armor. Is it true Mado horses phased out of history due to Mado Motorcycles proved better in many ways?

An unrelated question: Does Makai Order's sacred law against harming humans also undergo some changes over the course of timeline of Garo anime series? I remember in era where The Carved Seal of Flames take place, members of Makai Orders easily butchered by authorities upon exposed as witch due to them unwilling to break such law, but in era of Vanishing Line, Gina, the veteran Makai Alchemist, suffer no penalty in beating a crap of mafias who exploiting powers of computer-like Horrors without killing any of them.

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:39, April 23, 2018 (UTC)

If you caught the one I wrote on the Madōba page, I mentioned about that. Honestly, it's an educated guess, but also the most logical one. People used to have horses and now we use vehicles. Both Bolg and Garo have armored enhanced rides that can do more than a Madōba could ever have done. Since they have established a time line between all the animes, then it's logical to presume that the makai realm switched over to vehicles. Gina has a car, Luke and Sword have bikes, I'm sure someone has a van or truck out there for ridiculousness.

As for the "never harm a civilian"-rule, so long as you don't kill a human or cause severe harm, it's okay. Kouga and Rei have beaten a guy or two just to teach them a lesson. Members of the Makai Order were brutally assaulted and murdered in part because they didn't want to harm people, but they're also trying to escape from the authorities. If you remember in the earlier scenes, they try to do their best to only defend themselves and minimize their impact in confrontations, but it threatens their own lives. Zoro and Garo have been known to knock a few guards or clash blades, but only to disable or get through them without taking their lives. All of this was to honor their oath and also maintain their secrecy. By modern times, knights like Sword don't even care about secrecy. His only focus is making sure nobody gets seriously harmed and then rely on the alchemist to pull a Forgetfulness Charm to cover their tracks. It's one thing to beat up mafia and another thing to beat up the royal guards of the court, it has a way of making things worse. Mendoza also taught the guards how to properly capture alchemists and knights, usually forcing them out in the open and corner them in numbers and nets. If you noticed, the greatest threats is rarely an external threat, mostly an insider that got corrupted.

Taikage (talk) 18:46, April 23, 2018 (UTC)

Got it.

Talking about Madō Gun, I found more of their variants are introduced in anime series. Does Ema Guzmán's signature wire gun also a mado gun?

Black Soulstone (talk) 07:56, April 24, 2018 (UTC)

I would say Ema's weapon is more like a multi-purpose utility tool. If you noticed, she can switch the cartridge to be a high tension wire to wall sling and cutting up horrors. However, she can switch the inside with an entirely different tool like blue energy projectiles.

Taikage (talk) 21:39, April 24, 2018 (UTC)

Magic Clothing[edit source]

Taikage, I remember it was established that those who stained by Horror blood will suffer excruciating pain 100 days after the exposure, and then I observed how various Makai Knights cutting down Horrors. From that point, I realized that with them utilize Makai Blade to perform such task, killing horrors is more or less a bloody task. How on earth they didn't affected (if not outright exposed) by Horror blood? Is it because special clothes they wear (ex. white duster worn by Garo bearers such as Kouga and his son Taiga) during Horror hunts which protected them from Horror blood exposure?

An unrelated question: Do you mind if I made a page about Luke's Makai Armor in spite of its info very limited as it only appeared in epilogue of Vanishing Line?

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:41, April 29, 2018 (UTC)

The Magic Clothing was never a fully clarified matter. Certain knights and priests dress normally and others dress more traditional garments. All Golden knights carry an additional layer of chest armor. If you look at Zero and the others though, they're just wearing a duster and a dress shirt. As far as I can tell, blood on skin with a knight or priest can be purified. Kouga was purified from darkness at the Hall of Heroes, Rin's Horror taint was purified through mado flames. Both knights and priests try to cut down the target without splashing blood on them and when knights take on the armor, they are taint proof. Honestly, it's a series, you can't take into everything into account. If they treated blood staining seriously, there should've been a massive effort to grow the Varankas Fruit from daily exposure. For the most part, the knights managed to be stain proof. If you watch Ash Vs Evil Dead, you know walking away stain free isn't that easy.

As for Luke, go ahead. It's likely they'll do a movie about it so I'm sure sooner or later Luke will get a title. You might want to double check with other wiki sites to see has there been any changes in the data.

Taikage (talk)

Taikage, I finally finished the page of Luke's Makai Armor. Check it out here!!!

Jinga, Kami no Kiba[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

I just watched episode 2 of GARO: Makai Tales which focuses on young Jinga and Amily in their youths. In the past, Jinga was referred as Fang of God or Kami no Kiba. What does it mean?

Black Soulstone (talk) 00:34, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Kami (God) no (of) Kiba (Fang) when fully translated into English. It's really read as Fang of God. Does that help? Taikage (talk) 03:03, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

I actually not asking about that. My actual question is, why Jinga referred as Kami no Kiba? What's so special about that title?

Black Soulstone (talk) 03:47, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Titles are just earned by deeds. Jinga either inherited a powerful armor that earned him the moniker of Fang of God or he defeated enough Horrors to earn a reputation. Nobody really calls Kouga on his real name unless it's a friend. Even though there are people within his line of work knows his full name, they tend to default to Golden Knight. I don't know how much you know about the future line up of things, but supposedly we'll get a deeper story into Jinga's past in a new series. Possibly then they'll offer some clarity over the matter.

Taikage (talk) 17:05, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Or in GARO: Fang of God? That movie might have answer we looking for.

Black Soulstone (talk) 06:28, May 7, 2018 (UTC)

Curious Questions[edit source]

Taikage, I got 2 questions:

A. Whenever a Makai Knight don his Makai Armor, particulary Garo, a wolf/lion-like roar can be heard when the transformation process completed. Does the growl being part of Makai Armor's mystical properties?

B. When GARO: Fang of God actually released? I thought it was at the beginning of this year.

C. Taikage, when browsing infos about Makai Knights in wikipedia site, mass-produced Makai Armors for title-less makai knights (which looked dull and boring compared to titled Armors like Garo) are referred as Hagane (鋼(ハガネ)) Armors. What's your opinion about it?

Black Soulstone (talk) 06:25, May 7, 2018 (UTC)

I've been loking into that for like the last month & i've not found any info on this topic, so until somone say's so i say let's go with it. And yes Taikage those are the Hagane armors. On that note what do guys think about caling the Knights with these armors aka the so-called titleless knights as a sharerd title of Steel Knight (鋼騎士, Hagane Kishi) or  (鋼鉄騎士, Kōtetsu Kishi)?.DJToku1992 (talk) 17:22, May 7, 2018 (UTC)

A. So far, every titled armor has the ability to growl and it's always when the person first wears the armor. I consider it a gimmick more than anything. The growl does nothing, just an added effect to possibly to show how cool or threatening the armor can be to a horror.

B. Fang of God was released on January 6, 2018, but Japan is one of the few countries that takes up to 6+ months for a DVD release. Black Panther is already out well before Fang of God. You can check on the raw feeds of Tokyo Toshokan to see if there's been a raw release, but it's usually TV-Nihon getting the physical raw and doing their file transfer and translations. From experience, I'm guessing it will be released either June or July. Supposedly the TV series will continue after Kami no Kiba like Gold Storm, but there's nothing definitive yet.

C. Hagane just means Steel, so I guess the untitled armors are just called Steel (or Metal) Armors (which feels boring). I thought they would at least have the logic to name it Okami Yoroi, which means Wolf Armor. Steel feels so unspecial, but that might be the affect they're looking for.

Taikage (talk) 17:59, May 7, 2018 (UTC)

I see. The growl made the knight looked intimidating and badass, though I felt Anime series tend to exaggerated it: Aside growling, the armor emote in life-like manner, though improvements they undergo by the time in Vanishing Line era made the armor less capable to do that again.

Black Soulstone (talk) 02:06, May 8, 2018 (UTC)

Taikage, when browsing TV Tropes site related to GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames, it's revealed that many fans hated Alfonso San Valiante for confiscating Garo armor from León Luís as punishment for giving into rage and became Lost Soul Beast and burned half of San Valiante in process. Is it true, and what's your opinion about it?

I personally resented their judgements as they know nothing about Leòn's problems: Leon may deserved to have Garo, but it's just his heart that not ready for it. Germán Luís and (later) Alfonso knew this too well that they confiscated Garo until he mentally ready enough to become true Makai Knight by overcome his inner demons. Furthermore, I even doubt they aware that in order to become Makai Knight one must balanced out light & darkness in their heart, which Leon later accomplished and revealed to Alphonso that the prince decided to returned Garo to him.

How about you, Taikage?

Black Soulstone (talk) 10:14, May 8, 2018 (UTC)

There's always going to be a story of a powerful warrior with untamed power and a untamed mind. Leon's fire blessing from Anna gave him emotional memory, allowing him to remember the most emotional moments of his life, including the very first moments of his life. To know that you're born into the world and your mother was burned alive by the people you've sworn to protect can be maddening and Santa Barda deserves to be burned. However, in context, the public was told Anna was a witch and she deserved to be burned. How was the public and king is to know this when the Makai Order always keeps things under wraps right? Anna's fate would've been different had the Makai Order made the effort to reach out to the king and even cooperated with him, but they prefer to keep things secret and that was their undoing because of Mendoza. For Leon to be stripped at Garo, yes, it was an upsetting moment, but he also lost the right to be a protector. Even Zaruba felt he was unworthy of the armor for his actions as a Lost Soul Beast. In many ways, Leon needed this event to happen. He had to realize how damaging his rage can cause pain and suffering. Coupled with Lara's death, he's a better protector after finding a real reason to protect humanity rather than doing it as a job. I had hoped they would use Zirkel's Ring to bring back Lara as some sort of reward for Leon, but guess not. Overall, I didn't think much about what others think. We're always going to be upset with the hero loses something important, but when we lose, we also learn something valuable in the process and that allow us to appreciate it more.

Taikage (talk) 20:31, May 8, 2018 (UTC)

I see.

Everything Leon went through indeed bad, but in my point of view, it was partly Makai Order's fault. They dealed Mendoza poorly in the past— After cursing his blood and banished him as punishment for inventing Zirkel's Ring, they simply left him alone until it became major problem. I understand they did so due to their sacred codes, but had they kept a track of him, damages he had done won't be that disastrous. In lesser extent, in episode 19 of GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames, they also made another mistake by mistreating Ema Guzmán following her husband's Horror transformation out of fear she will suffer the same fate.

What do you think? Does my judgement was too harsh or it was indeed The Order's hubris that started it all or something else?

Black Soulstone (talk) 23:22, May 8, 2018 (UTC)

I think if you read the article on Makai Order, especially on the history, you'll see I chastise the order for their screw ups. How the hell nobody realized the original Silver Knight is dead and that he adopted two kids, which one of them is supposed to be his successor. For all the Order's care for bloodline, they don't seem keep track of their own people. Had they known about the Fudo twins, Leo's and Sigma's skills and identity should've been known long ago. They could've locked Mendoza away instead of letting him go. How could anyone in the order presume a person that they severely punished wouldn't just come back to haunt them so badly? You think after dealing with so many corrupted people they should try to handle things better, but it wouldn't be a story if there are no screw ups. You think Vanishing Line or any part of the anime time line would introduce Darkness Hunters or show a more political side of things where the Order would try to reform themselves after the Mendoza debacle, but apparently not. They still had another Dark Knight to handle. Taikage (talk) 03:05, May 9, 2018 (UTC)

Screw-ups Makai Order made indeed awful, but without it, characters such as León Luís, Kouga Saejima, Ryūga Dōgai, or even Rei Suzumura won't become better person we know and love. I acknowledged that nobody, even those in Makai Order, is perfect or flawless. Even the Order' iteration in Ryūga-verse not perfect in spite of a bit more competent. Their past hubris had caused Edel the Dragon Knight turned against humanity, but without it, they won't quickly develop Soul Metal for creating Makai Knights. When it comes about dealing Barago, I remember Barago hinted that instead of only Bado and Taiga Saejima, there are actually many Makai Knights that went after him, but met the same fate.

Horrors[edit source]

Taikage, there's something that confuse me about Horrors. It was established that those who possessed and taken over by a Horror will die as if the possessing Horror got destroyed, its host will die along with it. But yet, when Jinga possessed Rian, Rian survived the ordeal and even have possessing Jinga exorcized safely out of her body by Ryume (though the process not went as planned due to Amily absorbed Jinga's essence away so both her and Jinga can temporarily share a body). How did she survive? Does the reason of those who possessed by Horrors not survive because the possessing demon beast fatally assimilate both the host's body and soul or there's something I amiss and not understand?

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 12:05, May 11, 2018 (UTC)

Jinga taking over Rian's body was a form of ghost possession. Jina's body was destroyed, but his dark spirit lingered and invaded into Rian, that's why the rules of Horror possession was ignored, because she needed to be exorcised and that's exactly what happened. Jinga was removed and his spirit merged with Amily's body.

Taikage (talk) 17:37, May 11, 2018 (UTC)

I see. I remember when he possessed the Makai Priest, he left his crippled body where his husk able to gave Ryuga and co. last taunt before destroyed. I hardly count Kaoru's possession by Messiah count as actual possession as Messiah actually mind-controlled her from Makai Realm.

Mind if you explain me in greater detail why Horror possession being fatal that even if the possessor killed, the possessed died along with the horror?

Black Soulstone (talk) 02:30, May 12, 2018 (UTC)

If you recall the original series episode when Rei just showed up, Garo faced a grave yard themed Horror that possessed a hooker. As she was dying, she asked to be saved, but was told one a Horror takes over, the person dies with the Horror; they can't be saved. Even without that, it's always been said that once a horror takes over you, you're spirit and body belongs to the horror. Once the horror is dead though, you might be at best free for a few seconds before your body disappears. Your soul isn't even kept, it's just turns into nothingness.

Taikage (talk) 00:25, May 13, 2018 (UTC)

One more question: When person who possessed by horror dies, wherre his/her soul go? Is it to Makai Realm?

Black Soulstone (talk) 00:43, May 13, 2018 (UTC)

Last I checked, the soul is eliminated along with the horror when it is destroyed. You can double check the episode to be sure.

Taikage (talk) 21:51, May 13, 2018 (UTC)

That's bummer. I ended up imagine the soul ended up on Makai Realm alongside possessing Horror. It might because Makai Order have slain Horrors' essences that concentrated into daggers delivered to Makai Realm.

Oh, talking about flaws of Makai Order, in their anime iteration, especially in GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames, does their miserable state due to avoiding persecutions (which worsened by Mendoza) also result of hubris and paranoia over dealing horrors and secrecy? I have rewatched episode 19 about Ema's problem which started from the night Luciano became Horror. When The Order learned both its circumstances and Ema's intention to stop Luciano's rampage, The Order's Makai Knights, out of possibility of her become horror too, mistreated Ema by kicking her butt into jail and deal Luciano themselves. Predictably, they failed and ended up killed, with embittered Ema laugh on their somewhat disgraceful death.

I might exaggereated that part, but at the same time, I sensed there are degree of discrimination between Makai Knights and Makai Alchemists, as the flashback scenes shows a trio of Makai Knights mocked and sneered Ema and Luciano over better means to deal Horror threat.

What's your opinion about this? You might need to watch eoisode 19 of GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames to verify what I just explained to you.

Black Soulstone (talk) 10:46, May 14, 2018 (UTC)

In all professional situations, when your partner is dead or severely injured, you're not supposed to look into a matter yourself. You're considered too mentally/emotionally compromised to handle things objectively. From what I remembered, it was a group of prickly egotistical priests who thought they knew better and got themselves killed for it. The priests that mocked the Guzmans mocked them because Luciano was a highly emotional person, who suffered a great deal of pain for unable to save a tortured soul that became a horror. Coupled with despair and guilt, a horror took advantage of his imbalance and possessed him.

Taikage (talk) 12:06, May 14, 2018 (UTC)

Zaruba[edit source]

I dug some info about Zaruba's anime origin in, other wikia site about GARO seriez where in that wikia's version of Zaruba's page, Keita Amemiya explained Zaruba's past to be like this:

Zaruba's past Horror self

Unlike other Horrors, Zaruba has been thinking about co-existence with humans in ancient time. He made a contract with Makai Knights that he will help them defeat Horrors by seal his body in a form of a ring, and in reward, Makai Knights will feed Zaruba with life energy. Since this contract was signed, Zaruba is no longer treated as a Horror but a typical race of Makai Beast.

What's your opinion about it? Sorry if I might brought up an old topic.

Black Soulstone (talk) 08:54, May 12, 2018 (UTC)

I honestly don't have much of one. If that's legit, you're free to add into it.

Taikage (talk) 00:25, May 13, 2018 (UTC)

I believe that one is legitimate.

About Makai Dragon and Dragon Knight powers, I know such powers remembered by Makai Order as legendary power, but once last dormant dragon egg ended up coveted by Edel and Hiromi in events of ZERO: Dragon Blood and the egg hatched, why Makai Order ordered destroying the newly born makai dragon? Was it to prevent Edel or Hiromi using its powers for their own gain? Or to ensure their past shame in their failed attempt to claim power of Dragon Knight that caused Edel turned against mankind in the first place remained hidden? Or the order also deemed power of Makai Dragon being forbidden technique? I know Loop the makai dragon indeed potentially more dangerous than Horrors, but as Loop possibly lasts of Makai Dragon in human realm, why The Order not return it to its true homeworld Makai Realm somehow instead (it might sounds naive, but it felt it more wise decision considering dragons' endangered state).

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 10:27, May 14, 2018 (UTC)

Well as you can see, a fully grown dragon has the power to burn an entire city with little effort. Dragons have their own will and can't be controlled. In this case, the Makai Order was correct in believing the dragon was too damn dangerous to be kept alive. Alice and Edel tried to keep Loop alive, only for them both to die and nearly lost the city. As for other motivations, they never explored it so we'll never know. Zero still has the last dragon egg as a key chain of sorts. Sooner or later, that thing might come back as something else.

Ema's Gadget[edit source]

What's this tool's name?

Taikage, I have an interest in making page of Ema Guzmán's unique gadget in the image on the side. What should we call it?

Black Soulstone (talk) 01:03, May 14, 2018 (UTC)

You're going to have to do some HW on that one. I personally consider it a multi-purpose gun since it can be like Batman's Grappling Hook Gun or switch over to magical blasts by changing the type of round on the cartridge. However, I've been busy with school and work to dive into the matter; double-check on the usual sources and see if there are any leads.

Taikage (talk) 12:07, May 14, 2018 (UTC)

Gif Image[edit source]

Taikage, I see you have impressive skill in making gif image. What kind of program/tool you use to make them? Is it Instagiffer or something better?

Just curious.

Black Soulstone (talk) 07:36, May 17, 2018 (UTC)

Nothing special, I use "Any Video Converter" and Windows Movie Maker. I use the movie movie maker for refined editing on the timing and use the converter to make it into GIFs. I try to go for HD GIFs, but that has made the video less smooth.

Taikage (talk) 13:03, May 17, 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for the help. A friend of mine need it.

Black Soulstone (talk) 13:07, May 17, 2018 (UTC)

Taikage, I started to wonder. Does Horrors being active at night due to being nocturnal or hate sunlight like vampires? I understand they are dark creatures, but this part is not what I understand.

Black Soulstone (talk) 02:02, May 20, 2018 (UTC)

Horrors are creatures of the dark, they prefer to appear at night over the daylight. However, they do operate in their human bodies during the daylight. This was a prevalent characteristic most stories.

Taikage (talk) 07:59, May 20, 2018 (UTC)

Makai Dragon vs. Small Makai Dragons[edit source]

Taikage, what's similarities between Makai Dragons and Small Makai Dragons? I just curious due to both share similarities in name and both are reptilian makai creatures. Does they relate or the naming was coincidence?

Black Soulstone (talk) 08:22, May 20, 2018 (UTC)

The naming scheme is like the different between an actual Lion and a Lion Fish, they're not related, but because the little fish sorta look dragon-like, they were given that name.

Taikage (talk) 15:59, May 20, 2018 (UTC)

Got it.

Curious question about Sonshi the Makai Knight-turned Madō Horror. Does his Horror form is a typical Demon Beast form or had been modified into possessing Demon Beast Exoskeleton similar to Jinga? Black Soulstone (talk) 03:23, May 23, 2018 (UTC)

Mado Horrors are a different class of Horrors. They tend to be artistic demonic manifestations of their personality. Jinga is technically a Horror possessed human that mastered the demon beast from within.

Personal Question[edit source]

Taikage, this might a bit personal, but how did you get introduced to Garo series and what's your first impression about it?

I learned about Garo franchise from the moment when I saw a friend of mine watching first 3 episodes of GARO: The Carved Seal of Flames and got intrigued. There, I saw how León Luís kicked some ass killing a dinosaur-like Horror and quickly noticed the series being a tokusatsu akin to Ultraman series or Kamen Rider (which I confirmed when dug some info about it in Wikipedia). Although, I also found it weird that Garo and (later) other Makai Knights like him rarely utilize a recurring flashy/spectacular finishing move like typical Tokutsasu series (most of the said finishing moves are simply either fatally stab/slash/cleave/beheading Horrors with their makai blades and while they do have). Though I found their Blazing Armament technique very badass, it dismayed me a bit they only use it sparingly. Other stuff that surprise me is their fighting pattern, which reversal of generic tokusatsu superheroes where Makai Knights only assume their armored form once the enemy either worn out of pose considerable challenge, unlike tokusatsu heroes who don their armor/powered form in most of the battles which also to conceal their identity (though now I understand that Makai Knight's armor have dangerous properties and time limit that only used when enemies' threat level high enough for wearing it truly necessary).

Please reply soon!!! Black Soulstone (talk) 11:34, May 26, 2018 (UTC)

It really started with my disappointment with the Kamen Rider series. After Kabuto, the series continuously went downhill from its serious roots to more childish new approach to appeal to a wider audience. Unfortunately, that alienated me and I longed for something more than just your usual kiddy fanfare. Then TV-Nihon started showing this new series, featuring a swordsman and a golden armor (Original Series), I gave it a shot and was hooked eversince. Up until the recent Kamen Rider Amazon, Garo fulfilled that void in terms of action, story, and visuals I was looking for.

Taikage (talk) 17:14, May 26, 2018 (UTC)

Oh, I see. You get bored on how Kamen Rider series met downhill. I'm not too fond with Kamen Riders, but I also like other tokusatsu such as Power Rangers, Super Sentai, and Ultraman. I thought all tokusatsu heroes usually similar to Kamen Raider or Super Sentai until Garo series showed something unique. Like you, I greatly impressed with its action, story, and visuals, though its unique take as tokusatsu series made me had to understanding its lore includes soul metal to comprehend whole thing.

Do you like watching anime series that involve magical girls such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Prettu Cure, Kill la Kill, or at least anime which have its elements like Little Witch Academia?

Black Soulstone (talk) 21:13, May 26, 2018 (UTC)

I haven't watched all of Kill La Kill yet. Currently I've been sporadically watching the new Legend of Galactic Heroes, Space Battleship Yamato 2202, Sword Art Online, King's Avatar, Food Wars, Boruto, Full Metal Panic!, Green Arrow, The Flash, Black Lightening, Transformers Prime, Star Trek Discovery, and Thunderbirds Are Go! I haven't fully caught up to Kamen Rider Amazon yet, but I hear it's gone back to it's more serious roots with this series. I plan to catch up with Garo Crimson Moon over the summer.

Taikage (talk) 22:43, May 26, 2018 (UTC)

You did mention about Kamen Rider Amazon. Do you mention about its 1974 version or 2017 version? The 2017 version stated to be reimagined version of 1974.

Black Soulstone (talk) 08:22, May 28, 2018 (UTC)

The recent 2017 re-imagined one, I only like the Kamen Rider Black series from the old days, that started my journey into Tokusatsu.

Jaaku Armor's Components[edit source]

I'm not really into GARO: Makai Flash Knight, but I'm curious with how Sigma Fudō created Jaaku Armor. Did he have necessary skill to forge that Makai Armor? Does that armor really made of Soul Metal forged with usage of his horror-enhanced arm? I can tell Jaaku doesn't have a basic form since it always imitate powers and appearance of armor don by the wearer's opponent through absorbing the said armor's ambient energy. Furthermore, from a youtube video, I saw that when Jaaku and Garo fighting, Kouga, the current Garo, noticed that the dark armor somewhat acts as Garo's shadow, prompting him to disengage his own armor. And suddenly, this causes Jaaku's appearance to become unstable that it abruptly collapses. Mind if you give me some explanation about it?

Two unrelated question:

A. What do you know about Lord Armor. What kind of abilities, gimmicks, Madōba (if any), and other attributes that Armor have? I have yet to watch Makai Flash Knight, but wished to expand that page.

B. Does Luciano Guzman's horror form encased within some kind of Demon Beast Exoskeleton similar to Jinga's? I know it's unlikely, but in his flight form that resemble raven, he got some kind of helmet around his head which shatters after Ema damaging it, revealing his human face.

Black Soulstone (talk) 10:24, May 28, 2018 (UTC)

The Jaaku armor was a creation of Sigma. Using his dark magic and alchemy, he can use his cursed hand to copy any makai armor and use it as his dark copy to face a knight on equal terms. If his hand was severely damaged or weakened, the stability of his magic breaks.

The Lord Armor was the first complete CG Makai Armor and still remains a CG armor. Despite having a fully made replica of a physical armor, it was never used (possibly due to weight issues). As a titled knight, Leo should have a horse, but it has yet to be seen. Any special abilities remain unknown. His appearance has been the least and shortest amongst armors. Other than Leo doing a special drill attack with his massive saber, little is known about it.

Luciano takes the beastial form of a fighter plane. I never saw it as a demon armor, more of a aerial bird form for flight and dog fighting.

Taikage (talk) 20:33, May 28, 2018 (UTC)

Can Lord or its user Leo Fudō perform Blazing Armament?

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:23, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

Yes, even if it's not visually seen, all armors can do it.

Taikage (talk) 06:08, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

Got it.

Anyhow, whenever Makai Knights not don their Makai Armor, where does they stored it? Is the armor stored in pocket dimension which linked with the armor's Makai Blade (ex. Garoken is bonded with Garo armor that the sword is used to summon it) or somewhere safe in the knight's home? I personally doubt the latter.

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:09, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

It was never fully clarified, it's only presumed that it was summoned from a pocket dimension. Taikage (talk) 01:46, May 30, 2018 (UTC)

Aguri's Kusugami Archery style[edit source]

Taikage, what do you know about Aguri's Kusugami Archery style? I only know that Kusugami Archery involves running while accurately firing arrows and firing magically enhanced arrow (the technique involves inbuing magic power into one or more arrows which ready to set loose to increase its momentum & damage).

Please reply soon! Black Soulstone (talk) 12:56, June 1, 2018 (UTC)

I only know what's mentioned on the series. He's from the Kusugami family and they're known for their Kusugami Archery style; he's the currently successor of that title. You seem to know as much as I do; you might want to look for other sources for deeper info. Kami no Kiba should be coming out by no later than fall (based on the theory that most Japanese movies are released 6-8 months later). There's going to be new information and better visuals. I'm curious can he use his bow as a set of Nunchuks since he transformed it that way in its dormant form.

Taikage (talk) 02:05, June 2, 2018 (UTC)

Does those arrows are conjured

Same, though nunchuks function added on Aguri's Makai bow was added by Burai after broken by Sonshi that suggestively, Aguri mastered nunchuk techniques with another bow with same functions. Reason I suspect him able to form magic arrows out of thin air partly due to the scene that you can see on the gif image. What's your opinion about it? Does he really conjure them or not?

Hopefully Kami no Kiba reveal Gai and Zen's full potential as well. I've been dying looking for that film (though personally, out of series in Ryuga-verse, its first series, GARO: The One Who Shines in the Darkness, is my least favorite, perhaps due to too much CGI).

Black Soulstone (talk) 17:10, June 2, 2018 (UTC)

It's not officially clarified is he doing it or is his weapon system is doing it, but I personally believe it's the armor system. He seems to use regular arrows in his regular form, but in his armored form, he has unlimited magical arrow rounds. The most unusual thing is that his weapons is meant to injure and not kill. Since it's proven only soul metal weapons can kill a horror, I found his weapons the weakest and it pretty much requires him to finish off his opponents like a huntsman. You know, critical arrow shot and then walk up to him and finish the job. That only makes it a less impressive armor since it's pretty much useful for only combat support. I'm hoping a lot more to see since they'll finally show what Zen can really do as the Flaming Knight and hopefully Gai can show he's more than just a long range bowman.

Taikage (talk) 21:08, June 3, 2018 (UTC)

Horrors Vs. Amazons[edit source]

Taikage, remember when you told me how you grew fond of Garo series cuz you dismayed with how recent kamen rider series become until appearance of Kamen Rider Amazons? Our said conversation made me intrugued with Kamen Rider Amazons that I decided to watch the first two episodes to see why you found that series likable as much as Garo.

From watching it, the said series introduces Amazons, man-eating monsters Kamen Rider protagonists fought against. When comparing it to Horrors, I found Amazons not realistically creepy enough. I mean, I felt they too much like man-eating monsters "dressing in mascot costume" than more realistic-looking Horrors in Garo, possibly cuz some Amazons either lacked a visible mouth or their exposed mouth have little to no movement at all (the mouth even visibly not moving when they either eating, screaming, or snarling). This contrasted to Horrors in Garo series whose visible mouth can be seen moving when eating or expressing something like snarling, growling, even drolling, etc.

What's your opinion about this comparison? It may somewhat silly, but I just curious.

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:11, June 5, 2018 (UTC)

Admittedly the props needed work. Like you said, the suits was lacking a degree of authenticity and didn't entirely sell me what watching it. I just try to get past the lack of realism to enjoy it or I'll nit pick all day about what's great and whats not. I'm just glad they went back to its darker roots.

Taikage (talk) 06:32, June 5, 2018 (UTC)

So true.

A trivial question: Does props in Horror costumes from GARO series (particularly Inga Horror costumes) freak you out to the point of having nightmares when you see them in action for the first time?

Black Soulstone (talk) 06:43, June 5, 2018 (UTC)

I actually thought the demon beast forms looked cool and realistic. What freaked me out was when a karakuri attacked the dude in the toilet before Zero killed him in GARO Special: Demon Beast of the Midnight Sun.

Taikage (talk) 18:06, June 5, 2018 (UTC)

It's also reason why I found demon beast forms of Horrors better than monsters in kamen rider series, buddy. I mean, how Horrors move their mouth, blinking their eyes, and even when they drolling upon nearby prey. The scene where fresh, gooey saliva can be seen in their opened mouth might disgusting, but the creator of GARO series did excellent part on making it as realistic as possible (though CGI still involved as well).

Black Soulstone (talk) 04:57, June 7, 2018 (UTC)

Trivial Questions[edit source]

Taikage, I have some questions that might a but trivial:

A. Anyway, out of characters in Garo series, who are you favored most? From Horrors and fallen Makai Knights' side, I like Octavia, Christopher Harden aka Dark Knight Bolg, Jinga, Barago aka Dark Knight Kiba, and Zedom. From Makai Order's side, I like Ryūga Dōgai, Raiga Saejima, Aguri Kusugami aka Gai, and Wilhem Ragnvald. How about you, buddy?

Rian showing map to Line City

I know you intentionally split infos about live-action series where it divided into Original Series (where Garo armor belonged to Saejima family) and Ryūga-verse series (where Garo have Ryūga Dōgai as its recent bearer) to clarify that both series not set in same universe. I believe I got another proof to support it.

In GARO: Gold Storm Flight movie, there's a scene where Rian showed Ryuga a map when discussing their next destination upon discovering Garo armor has tons of malevolence build-up and requires immediate maintenance. When you looked at it closely, the map appeared to show an unfamiliar province or other nations (it somewhat reminiscent to Europe, though I'm not very sure with it) and written in Makai Language that we can't tell whether both our heroes at Japan or rather, Ryūga-verse universe counterpart of Japan. What's your opinion about it?

Black Soulstone (talk) 15:36, June 7, 2018 (UTC)

A. In terms of villains, I liked Sigma Fudō and Kiba. For heroes Kouga Saejima, Rei Suzumura, Rekka, Kagome, Rian, Bado, and Dan.

B. Sure, where is it?

C. Not much thought about it since it's an alternative world.

Taikage (talk) 23:46, June 22, 2018 (UTC)

I see.

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:27, June 23, 2018 (UTC)

Spelling Page[edit source]

I saw that the Kamen Rider Wiki has a spelling page that includes images as sources, and think we need one too because the subs are sometimes wrong. For example, the orphanage in which Sophie lives is the Catherine Home and not Katrina Home. Similarly, one character was named Mathew, but since Matthew is used more commonly, the subs used Matthew.

MutantNinja3636 (talk) 20:33, June 16, 2018 (UTC)

You're more than welcome to correct that and put that into the trivia to say that was a Eng-sub error. Taikage (talk) 19:25, June 22, 2018 (UTC)

Dark Zem's true power & its effects.[edit source]

After rewatching Divine Flame & editing Zem's page I've started to wonder since we now know that all the anime's happen in the same world, what if the reason that Dark Zem/Dario was so strong was that he was charged with ki much like the armors seen in Vanishing Line. What if Dario was the first knight to do this & after his defeat, the Order figured out how to do it to give the knights even greater power to fight Horrors & by the era of Vanishing Line (about 500 or so years later if I had to guess) it has become standard for armors to have this power. So thoughts, is there a chance I'm onto something or do you think it's just coincidence?

DJToku1992 (talk) 22:14, July 16, 2018 (UTC)

I think it's coincidence at best. You have a lot of good points, but unless it's clarified by the creators of Garo, it's considered theoretical at best. You know continuity errors can exist and a lot of the things happening are just based on the "coolness effect" of design. We would do something so ridiculous as asking Garo Project about it, but I'm not even sure can they read English and my Japanese skills are crappy!

Taikage (talk) 17:04, July 7, 2018 (UTC)

Death Metal[edit source]

Taikage, it was stated that when a Makai Knight falls into darkness, the knight's soul metal turns into Death Metal (デスメタル Desu Metaru), taking hold of its user and consuming the person from the inside-out. Does it means Death Metal is the state where Soul Metal's corruption to darkness takes corrupted form like case of Kiba Armor or state of Soul Metal that Makai armor composed of during Lost Soul Beast transformation or both? I don't understand. Black Soulstone (talk) 10:05, July 9, 2018 (UTC)

Soul metal has allotted 99.9 secs for a trained user to use it's power, but once the time limit is passed, Death Metal state, the knight will lose all control. Death metal seemingly channels dark energies, overwhelming the knight into a raging beast like HULK. Driven by rage and hatred, it draws energy from the knight and transforms the armor into a Lost Soul Beast. It would require a knight with large amounts of light to regain control (Raiga) and overturn Death Metal into something else. Does that help?

Taikage (talk) 18:42, July 9, 2018 (UTC)

Then about Kiba armor. I know the armor had been severely corrupted by Barago both by forbidden arts (presumably) and overcoming his Lost Soul form with his inner darkness, but does Kiba armor's armor plating now composed of Death Metal or something else?

Black Soulstone (talk) 03:26, July 10, 2018 (UTC)

I'm sure it is, but it was never clarified into what. It's ultimately still soul metal, but the alloy can change different states.

Barchess[edit source]

Taikage, what do you know about Barchess game aside being makai version of chess? I don't understand about the game's mechanics.

The game was featured in episode 16 of GARO: Chapter of the Black Wolf. Black Soulstone

(talk) 16:22, July 10, 2018 (UTC)

Makai chess is similar to duel monsters. You move your pieces forward and both opponents charge their spirit energy into the pieces and the spiritual creature will come out to fight. In Kouga Vs Amon, it was two shadow knights that came out and fought. When the piece loses, the piece is ejected from the board. Does that help?

Taikage (talk) 12:37, July 15, 2018 (UTC)

One more question: Does all pieces used in barchess are plain same or divided into separate types like regular chess do? I didn't fully paid attention on that part, as I thought that, if it similar with regular chess, pieces utilized in Barchess would likely divided into a number of types (ex. rook/pawn, bishop, knight, etc.) each with their strengths and weaknesses. If that's the case, both opponents, regardless of how strong their spiritual energy, must pay the attention on their deployed pieces' strengths and limitations for their advantage.

Black Soulstone (talk) 01:53, July 16, 2018 (UTC)

I honestly have no idea. Nobody really deeply went into the specifics of the game. I merely observed what I saw based on Kouga's experience with Amon and also his time training as a kid with Baron. If there is, we'll have to dig because as far as I know, nobody clarified the game.

Taikage (talk) 05:16, July 16, 2018 (UTC)

It's okay. I saw that at least one of used pieces being a knight, the one that Amon hold when killed by Barago. Not sure whether it was to frame Kouga, but the Dark Knight done enough damage to turn Jabi against the Golden Knight.

Next Anime Setting?.[edit source]

If they end up doing another season of the anime where would you like it set? Since we've had in order (of release) Spain somewhere between the Late 1400's to Early 1800's (Since it's based on the Spanish Inquisition), Japan during the Heian Period (So anywhere from 794 to 1185) & Modern America.  I myself am torn apart of what I would like more. ~1: It to be set during the Late 1800's in Victorian England (Garo vs a Jack the Ripper Horror?), maybe have it be an homage to Bram Stoker's Dracula? or  #2: A series set in the Late 5/Early 6 Centuries with King Arthur as Garo & the rest of the Knight's of Round Table also being Makai Knight's. The Garo Ken was also Caliburn (aka the Sword in the Stone). Hell I've already came up with a title for Sir Lancelot du Lac, that being Luca the Pure Lake Knight (真湖騎士・ザンガ, Mako Kishi LUCA)

DJToku1992 (talk) 22:23, July 13, 2018 (UTC)

More than likely if they do another anime, it would be a few years after Vanishing Line. The series proved to be rather popular along with Western viewers. It would make grand sense to continue the story and even have Luke explain how he got his armor.

Taikage (talk) 00:41, July 15, 2018 (UTC)

I hope that if they do, the new seasons would do following stuff:

  • More Titled Makai Knights!: I wished that new series featured numerous Titled Knights who fight alongside Garo which includes recent generations of Zanga, Zoro and Gaia alongside new ones, all fighting together against common foe like in GARO: Makai Flash Knight.
  • Blazing Armament mystery: In era of vanishing line, we yet to see why Blazing Armament not featured at all with featured knights only utilized chi-charged attacks. We hoped that there are explanation whether Blazing Armament either phased out by chi manipulation or simply used sparingly due to being very destrutive.

Possible Live Action Spin Off[edit source]

Taikage, I just let you know that Ryūga-verse series would likely has another live-action spinoff titled Kami no Kiba: Jinga. Here's the news:

In November 2017, series creator Keita Amemiya announced plans for a spin-off television series, titled Kami no Kiba: Jinga (神ノ牙 -JINGA- lit. "Fang of God: Jinga"), featuring Masahiro Inoue's character Jinga was in the works. With plans for the series to start shooting in 2018.

Black Soulstone (talk) 08:37, July 14, 2018 (UTC)

I already knew about it when the movie was about to be released. The issue was that details murky and unclear is this a prequel or somehow Jinga is returned good. It would actually interesting if they're doing this from the villain's perspective. Either way, I wanted to work on the article when there was more information to work with.

Current Wikia[edit source]

I know you are busy and that's why I don't things ask often, but this is something that I would want everyone too see. Up until now I never seen fan fiction in this wikia or in any tokusatsu wikia, but that changed this week. A user recently created fan-fict pages and I don't know what to do. I tried to talk it out, but that person just keeps ignoring me, probably because I am nobody to him. So since you are the admin, maybe you can do something about i.

Thanks for your time. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 07:26, July 26, 2018 (UTC)

It's done. I deleted the fictional page and gave him a warning about pulling another stunt like this. If you see any unusual practices, please notify me and I'll look into it. I'll be much free by the second week of August. Thanks!

Sigma Fudō's goals[edit source]

Taikage, I'm not into GARO: Makai Flash Knight, and thus not fully understanding Sigma aka. Jaaku's motives. I know he is hellbent in destroying Makai Knight Corps so Makai Priests can be sole fighting forces of Makai Order, created dreaded Magōryū Idea to wipe out Horror threat, and all of it was because he denied the right to become latest Lord the Flash Knight. Not to mention when Leo talked to his dad Gōki about it, Gōki explained that he lacked the desire to protect others. Gōki's statement made me suspect that Sigma may already evil from start, not from the moment where he denied the right to become new Lord. I wonder whether Sigma's character development went like this:

During his development as Makai Knight apprentice alongside Leo, Sigma was aware that he better than his brother in many ways that he reveled in his skills and abilities. His pride led him to gradually distanced himself from others that he desire more by setting higher and more ambitious goals. The stronger he become, the more disdain Sigma felt towards the weak, whom he deemed worthless failures that not worth protection. This was something that alarmed Gōki that he chose Leo as his successor instead.

Does my theoretical explanation about Sigma being accurate? Please reply soon!!

Black Soulstone (talk) 14:44, August 14, 2018 (UTC)

You're mostly correct. He didn't feel disdain for the weak though, he just thought priests should be the true rulers of the Makai Realm; he value humanity differently. He took the life of a prostitute to experiment with and told Mio not to worry about it because she was part of the scum of society; it suggests he has some sort of life value measure based on how you live your life. He was groomed to become the next Lord, but when his own father denied him, even though stronger than Leo, he resented his father and his knighthood. Although he kept saying he's a devout priest, he uses his knight training often to spite the makai knights. I always saw all of his doing as the ultimate spit on his father's knight legacy and his overly ambitious nature to save the world with Idea without the need for knights to prove how useless the knights really are. What do you think?

Taikage (talk) 04:53, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

So true. In spite of his ambitions for higher goals fueled by both pride with stuff he can dk and rage towards Makai Knights in general, he value life, but not in same standards with true protectors Makai Knights meant to be.

The reason why put up such theory and discussed it with you is because I once read/watch about bad guys who similiar to Sigma in many ways, including their character developments. Unfortunately, those guys develop resentment towards weak and helpless due to blinded by their ego like Christopher Harden and thus suspecting that the same thing likely happened to Sigma. It's slightly surprising that he still had standards about life albeit twisted one.

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:26, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

However, while making Makai Knights useless with one way or another indeed bad, I felt something worse would happen had Kouga and co. failed in stopping him: Assuming Sigma managed to indifinitely suppressed Gyanon which he used as Magōryū Idea's power source all while succesfully wiped out every single one of the knights, he would proceed to reform Makai Order in his own image as final stage of his plan to ensure Makai Priests as sole fighting force in the order. A plausible reason of this is to prevent Makai Priest who disagreed with him from instigating rebellion against him.

What's your opinion about my theory above?Black Soulstone (talk) 05:30, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

Based on his own words and educated guess, he would establish a new world order and humanity will be used to fuel Idea. He would basically finally create the peace that the makai order failed to achieve in so many generations, but it would be a world under his rule. Idea's powers would crush all dark gateways to prevent horrors from ever returning, but it would require constant human sacrifices as fuel. Compared to the deaths of humanity in regular life, this is slightly better numbers wise. Instead of death by causality of life though, it would because Sigma needed to maintain Idea's anti-horror suppression. He also made it clear that does that don't follow his will shall suffer for it. Although in Rattess' case, he was too much of an asshole to keep around.

Magic Arts or Madōgu Arts ?[edit source]

Taikage, I have an interest in making a new page about magic used by Makai Alchemists and Makai Priests alike. However, as magical items crafted by people of Makai Community started with the word "Madō" (Madō Lighter for example), I began to wonder between naming magic page as Madō Arts or simply Magic?

Any ideas?

Black Soulstone (talk) 08:30, August 21, 2018 (UTC)

Mahou means magic in Japanese, Madōgu is magical tool; I prefer to keep it as magic arts. Taikage (talk) 09:32, August 21, 2018 (UTC)

Messiah in GARO: Fang of God[edit source]

Just letting you know that I am watching Garo: Fang of God and it's turned out that Messiah also showed up in Ryūga-verse series as overeaching Horror. You should watching it now too, man!

The download link via. torrent can be accessed here in case if you yet to watch it: - Search: Fang of God

Black Soulstone (talk) 09:17, September 27, 2018 (UTC)

Taikage, does Messiah who appeared in GARO: Chapter of the Black Wolf and GARO: Fang of God are same character or separate entity? I started to wonder whether she also responsible for the events in Fang of God movie.

Please reply soon!!!

Black Soulstone (talk) 09:46, September 30, 2018 (UTC)

I have no idea. The actress for Messiah is adult film star Sho Noshino and I was surprised she reprised her role for this film. She's physically and technically the same Messiah, but is she from the same universe is unknown. It has been established that Kouga and Ryuga are from different parallel worlds, but it was never specific was the Makai Realm the same world. Either it's a parallel Makai Realm or it's the same one that bleeds in between those two mortal realms. They never went into full explanation, so I can't tell accurately.

Taikage (talk) 18:46, September 30, 2018 (UTC)

Jinga new page?[edit source]

OK, I just got done watching the 1st ep of Kami no Kiba - Jinga & it's been revealed that the Jinga we see in this show (Jinga Mikage aka Rose the Shining Shadow Knight) is in fact NOT the same Jinga from Gold Storm but his reincarnation. Now to me, that's enough to qualify him as a separate character, therefore, needing his own page. However, I'd like a second opinion: New page for Jinga Mikage or keep it all one page?

DJToku1992 (talk) 19:22, October 06, 2018 (UTC)

We should and do it like the Garo Armor pages. I thought about keeping the page together, but it might be too much. The history section alone would be a major headache.

Taikage (talk) 20:29, October 6, 2018 (UTC)

How do we do that? Cuz i dont know how

DJToku1992 (talk) 21:58, October 06, 2018 (UTC)

Well we need to un-hook the pages first. Jinga and Jinga Mikage are redirected as a single page; we need to edit out the redirect so Jinga and Jinga Mikage are separated. Then like the Garo Armor pages, we can create the tabs to show they are technically the same character, but different enough to warrant its own page.

Taikage (talk) 21:02, October 6, 2018 (UTC)

Two Questions[edit source]

Hi, Taikage, I got 2 questions:

A. Have you watched first episode of Fang of God: JINGA?

B. Does those who possessed by Horrors will have their soul literally destroyed after the possession? I know I had asked this before, but I now felt unsure about it after encountering the case of Jinga: After he was defeated by Garo in the climax of GARO: Gold Storm Sho, he turned out can still be resurrected as revealed in GARO: Fang of God and in the same movie, it was confirmed that he ended up at Makai Realm after his second defeat. Then, in Fang of God: JINGA, Jinga later stated to be reincarnated into a man named Jinga Mikage. If a person's soul is destroyed, there's no way that person can be reincarnated in later life. Can you give exact explanation on this?

Please reply them soon!!

Black Soulstone (talk) 12:24, October 7, 2018 (UTC)

A - I saw it yesterday.

B - They way I understood it was that once a Horror takes over a human body, their soul's are kinda stuck to dark glue; a forced symbiotic relationship. It's still there, but you can't really separate them. That's why most of the time, a knight kills a possessed human. There were many cases when a person's memories and being is still intact inside the person, but because a horror is bonded to them, there was no practical way of purifying the person to separate the darkness and the human soul. If you remember that Flash Knight episode, where a Samurai managed to survive for centuries thanks to a horror. He had enough focus and power to overwhelm the horror for him to control. It was one of the rare few cases when a horror was forced to be held in while the human takes over. Some possessions are partnerships while most were based on pure domination over a person's will. The more recent episode felt more like a partnership, where the horror allowed the mother to be a mom to the kids except when it was feeding time. To fully cleanse the darkness, a priest or knight must destroy the body. Even then, there's no guarantee the victory was a complete one. Remember, most knights have to purify their swords and what's left of the horror they fought will take the form of blades and sent back to the Makai Realm. And even through passive conversation, a horror is sealed away, not fully killed. Ginga himself was defeated and sent to the Makai Realm, where he fought Messiah (for unexplained reasons). He lost that fight, but his spirit wandered across space and time. It's possible for Jinga to find his way back to the living through a gateway. How he was reborn into the light though was a mystery and I'm sure they'll get into it one day. Maybe someone wants to find a better way of dealing with horrors without taking a person's life or want to see if they can purify even the most tainted of souls. Let's just wait and see.

Ryūga-verse vs Original Series[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

Between Ryūga-verse and Original Series, you did believe that both series not set in same universe, right? Does it because following reasons? I just wanted to make sure it myself since it is most debatable case in Garo series.

  • Makai Order of Ryuga-verse are obviously more competent when it comes to secrecy contrasting to Original Series' version which often sloppy and never shown magically wipe out all knowledge of the existence of their world whenever a civilian(s) get involved in their world.
  • Watch Dogs of Ryuga-verse (possibly) are more approachable due to them confirmed to be veteran Makai Priests to begin with and even willing to directly aid their fellow Priest and Makai Knights instead of being mysterious, enigmatic, and passive figures they known in Original Series.
  • Garo Armor's power and nature in Ryuga-verse is outright different to its Original Universe counterpart: While Garo in Original Universe can assume upgraded forms upon empowered by feelings and spiritual powers of others which only temporary and its golden shine purely cosmetic, Ryuga-verse version of Garo's powers tied to its golden shine and all of its upgraded forms are either permanent or reusable.
  • Soul Metal in Ryuga-verse series confirmed to be made of Zedom's seeds, but up until this point, Zedom himself never mentioned/referenced in Original Series continuity.
  • The case of Lost Soul Beast transformation neither alluded nor shown in Ryuga-verse series up until this point, even though Makai Knights still encouraged to use their armors sparingly due to unknown negative effects.
  • Makai Knights of Ryuga-verse Series so far yet to shown having ability to summon Madō Steed until this point.

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 00:12, October 9, 2018 (UTC)

It's all of that, but also because of the final episode of Makai Tales, where Zaji was able to cross between time and space. When Rekka and Rian met each other, they both know about Garo, but the owners are different. Even if you can argue that Ryuga is from the future, it doesn't explain what happened to the Madobas and the future of the other armors. With the exception of Garo, all the other armors aren't the same. If Zero ended up in the Ryūga-verse, I would be more likely to believe it.

Taikage (talk) 01:00, October 9, 2018 (UTC)

So it was Zaji, right? It sounds that the team-up of Rekka and Rian were his doing instead of Eyrith. Am I right?

Black Soulstone (talk) 01:25, October 9, 2018 (UTC)

You never saw the episode? Eyrith used her powers to bring back Zaji. Eyrith was too busy dealing with Raiga and had Zaji mess with Garo between time and space. Zaji can travel in between dimensions and time travel. If you saw the episode, it was definitive for me to say these two Garos are from different worlds.

GARO Makai Retsuden - Makai's Tales Ep.12

Taikage (talk) 02:32, October 9, 2018 (UTC)

Not yet, but I will. Although, I understood enough from this wikia that since Zaji obsessed with bearers of Garo and fought them most of the time, I bet only a handful of individuals aside bearers of Garo who aware with his existence, let alone understood his nature. So it's more plausible that team up event mostly done by Zaji with Eyrith mostly acts as catalyst and Rekka and Rian would mistaking Zaji as another Horror.

Anyway, I'll watch that episode soon to make sure of it.

Black Soulstone (talk) 02:38, October 9, 2018 (UTC)

I have watched that episode myself, and your theory where Ryuga-verse and Original Series not set in same universe turned out to be likely true, man! Although, I felt the confusion about this can also be blamed on Zaji as it apparent that he is less famous and only regarded by fans as a disposable Monster of the Week in spite Zaji made it clear he must not to be ridiculed THRICE! Here's my explanation regarding Zaji as vital proof that Ryūga-verse and Original Series not set in same universe:

While Eyrith had facilitated the team-up event of Rekka and Rian in Makai Tales to happen by reviving Zaji, she was mostly the catalyst of the said event, NOT the mastermind as many assumed her to be. This supported by the fact that Eyrith left Zaji in his own devices after restoring him to his peak, leaving Zaji as the true mastermind behind the team-up event. To elaborate this further, Zaji is an immortal monster born from malices of Horrors slain by bearers of Garo, and thus will do anything to destroy them in extreme prejudice even if it means using their loved ones should they have light of Garo within them. Moreover, Zaji made it clear that he doesn't discriminate between bearers of Garo title regardless of who they are and where they come from, able to sense the light of Garo within others (particularly the said Golden Knights ' loved ones), and possessed power over time and space which allow him to create pocket dimensions where he has greater advantage over his foes in combat and in his peak, travel between different dimensions. Furthermore, through Zaji's confusion from sensing the light of Garo within both Rekka and Rian over the course of the team-up event, it's apparent that when he kidnapped Rekka so he can kill both her and Garo who close to her (Kouga Saejima), his heightened powers from his revival at hands of Eyrith made him sense another Garo (arguably Ryūga Dōgai) somewhere in time and space which confused him, but nevertheless prompt him to kidnapped Rian (the said Garo's girlfriend) anyway so he can destroy her and the said Garo too. These made the possibility of Ryuga-verse and Original Series not set in same universe much likely, something that even suggested by Kouga after destroying Zaji to save Rekka and Rian.

What do you think? By the time you read this, I already post it in trivia section of Ryūga-verse page.

Black Soulstone (talk) 03:58, October 9, 2018 (UTC)

I actually made a GIF as heavier proof about my views on it so I don't have to argue about it in the future.

Opinion About Ryūga-verse Series[edit source]

Taikage, what's your personal opinion on the Ryūga-verse series? If you ask me, I am slightly disappointed on its first entry, GARO: The One Who Shines in the Darkness due to too much CGI use, but love its sequels Gold Storm Sho (both the prequel movie and TV Series) and GARO: Fang of God. The other thing that dismayed me about Ryūga-verse series is its timeline which somewhat confusing and misleading to me.

What I initially expecting how setting of Ryugaverse looked like

When I learned that Ryūga-verse series takes place in distant future (around 2200s), I initially expecting such series has lots of cyberpunk vibe similar to sci-fi works such as Shadowrun series, Blade Runner 2049, and Ghost in the Shell series, and thus has following aspects:

  • Madōgu has been replaced with advanced technomagic equipment developed by Makai Order specifically designed to have similar abilities with their predecessors albeit far more efficient. Some even still use soul metal.
  • Makai Knights and Makai Priests still active, but some of them would be exceptionally skillful in hacking machines and computers systems.
  • Horrors of course, still a threat, but some have developed ability to possess machines and corrupt AI systems.

It's a shame it's turned out stuff and technology in Ryuga-verse turned out not so different with ours (though Volcity's facilities more advanced, but pale compared to cyberpunk cities).

Please reply soon!! Black Soulstone (talk) 12:14, October 20, 2018 (UTC)

The first Ryuga story was built on a budget, they didn't have the money for the more elaborate props, sets, and graphics. It wasn't until the 2nd story that they used movie-level HD digital filming and enhanced graphics. Honestly I'm not a huge fan of the Ryuga-verse world and I thought they could've done more with the original universe. If you ran out of story for Garo, you could make another story with another knight (which they eventually did). However, I guess the writers felt there was nothing else to talk about and moved on. I'm more looking forward to seeing Kouga's return. What bothered me was that how normal-looking Japan is in supposedly 200 years after our time. It would've been an interesting story had humanity advanced to the level of Ghostbusters where they can use technology to sense the makai world and deal with the supernatural in their own way.

Taikage (talk) 07:46, October 24, 2018 (UTC)

Same. In addition of advancements to the level of Ghostbusters, Ryūga-verse's setting should be plausibly a cyberpunk one in which Garo and his makai priest/knight companions found themselves infiltrating Horror-infested megacorporations that so huge Volcity is pale in comparison.

I also wished that when Kouga and Kaori finally make their return and even reunited with their son Raiga, Kouga able to live longer than Taiga did and even has the chance to become mentor for new generation of Makai Knights.

Hey Taikage, need your garo experience[edit source]

Hey Taikage. I was at my usual "picture scavenging" when I came across a really good pic of Garo with wings that I can swear is a Ryuga-Garo variation. It's certainly not Garo flight as the wings are not the same, and as I haven´t watch the last garo movie (Fang of God?) I'm not sure as to where post it. I also asked Balcksoul but he didn't knew either.

You can see the pic here.

Unk Garo.png

Noise-kun (talk) 00:19, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

This technically doesn't exist in any part of the story. The armor itself is from the Ryūga-verse, but the winged scheme doesn't actually match his Dark Garo form. Either this is a fake or some sort of alternative form we haven't seen yet. You know conceptual art don't always make it to the final cut.

Taikage (talk) 03:23, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

Oh? That's sad to hear. I found this one at the newst pachiko game of garo... I can't tell the name since I don't know Japanese, but if I found something I will tell you.

Noise-kun (talk) 11:34, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

It might be a special character design outside of the primary universe. There are still armors that only existed in the pachinko games and stories that never made it to the series.

Taikage (talk) 12:13, November 23, 2018 (UTC)

I had to use a "Translate" app, but it says "Coming soon, armor of Garo: Red Gold" (Kurenai Kin Sho no yoroi).

For now, tentatively, my best guess is that is a upcoming Garo setup or series. So until further info, and seeing that the pachinko game has both Jinga and Orange eyes Garo this is a Ryuga Garo variation.

Relation between Makai Order and Dragon Knights[edit source]

Taikage, remember about our past conversation regarding how Makai Order ended up turned against humanity by attempting to hurt Nova just so they can replicate Dragon Knight powers. I already understand why Makai Order deemed the presence of a Makai Dragon in the human realm too problematic to let around (the dragons can easily destroy an entire city on a whim as you said), but does Makai Order really had other motives to stop Edel? Does they assigned Rekka and Rei Suzumura aka. Zero to kill Edel so they can also keep their past shame from disastrous attempt to acquire Dragon Knight powers which led Edel turned against humanity remained hidden? For a time I thought Dragon Knight powers was really a forbidden power, only to realized that there's little to no proof about it.

Please reply soon!

Black Soulstone (talk) 00:32, December 24, 2018 (UTC)

I don't know about that part and we shouldn't presume too much as the story unfolds. Suggestively, they either hidden their shame or (since everyone was incinerated) only guessed what happened and made something up. No, it's not a forbidden power. It's a highly coveted power until they figured out alternatives.

Taikage (talk) 05:36, December 24, 2018 (UTC)

You got the point. Given that Edel's sad flashback showed us that one of the priests who harmed Nova made a fatal mistake by foolishly get on the Dragon Knight's nerves, the possibility of the Order intending to hid their their shame through disposing Edel and his egg still exist.

Now I have another question: Should Makai Order encountered a faction of Dragon Knights, what would likely happen?

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:53, December 24, 2018 (UTC)

That would be an interesting story. I theorize the Makai Order would be surprised and confused as to what to do. They are human, but not Horrors; they would have to respect their law to not harm them. The Dragon Knights would likely take advantage of the "No Kill Humans"-rule and establish themselves as a new threat to their power. Eventually, the clans would clash and start a war, but it would end when a new horror threat that's greater than either side and forced to team up to defeat it. Afterwards, they either learn to work together in peace or reform their order to include dragons.

Taikage (talk) 17:01, December 24, 2018 (UTC)

Good point. The clash between the Dragon Knight Clan and Makai Order is possible unless peaceful solution is found.

Did Kodama really killed Jabi?[edit source]

When watching GARO: Chapter of the Black Wolf, I was shocked to see how Kodama seemingly blasted Jabi into pieces, but it confused me as Jabi turned out having herself stuck inside the Makai Tree Miki until Kouga freed her and allowed her to return to the Human Realm in process. Did Kodama really killed her? Or he actually banished her into Makai Tree Miki in an unpleasant manner?

Please reply soon!!

Yeah, probably on the worst parts of Garo. I thought Jabi was dead too until her teacher, Amon, came back from the dead to tell Kouga that Jabi was saved by a Makai Tree in her last moments. Apparently during the repatriation ceremony and Jabi's supposed final moment, Miki grabbed her just as she was about to be blow apart by Kodama. Dragged into the Makai Forest, Miki seems to be trying to convert Jabi into something else. Whatever that case may be, she's back in the living and hooked up with Tsubasa.

Taikage (talk) 15:33, January 20, 2019 (UTC)

Given to Kodama and Gulm's merciless approach in aiding Barago, the possibility of Miki deliberately faked Jabi's death for its own agenda is much more likely. Thank God Gulm already gone by the time Jabi back to the land of the living, if otherwise Gulm would be ANGRY to see her return, I think.

Potential Copyright Infringement[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

Nearly a year ago I have uploaded some music video of Makai Knight themes from Garo series in YouTube which links you can see below:

The thing that worried me was the possible copyright infringement from what I did: One of battle scenes from Zero: Dragon Blood I posted at YouTube got blocked and at the same time, I got a copyright takedown notice as a warning. In response of this, as soon as I completed YouTube Copyright School to regain the access for my YouTube Account, I deleted the blocked video and did the same on Garo Battle scenes to prevent similar issue. But I worried about 3 videos above. Do you think that despite of me edited that video with images of their respective Makai Knights I still potentially given another copyright takedown notice?

Please reply soon?

Black Soulstone (talk) 13:19, February 19, 2019 (UTC)

It's every bit possible. I got a warning because I used a small cut from a soundtrack and they blocked me. There are software designed to look for similarities into certain data to weed out copyright issues. If you're that worried, you can convert the audio file into something else and store into the wikia itself or an alternative that doesn't police media as hard.

Taikage (talk) 03:29, February 20, 2019 (UTC)

You mentioned that there are software designed to look for similarities into certain data to weed out copyright issues? Like what for example?

Black Soulstone (talk) 06:04, February 20, 2019 (UTC)

Audio signatures. A highly popular song is likely recorded into the data system and when new data is loaded, it will screen for similarities. If there's a similarity, it will see how much of it is legal and not. That's all I know.

Shadowfolk Community[edit source]

Taikaga, did you know that there's a more secluded branch of Makai Order called Shadowfolk community? That community primarily comprised of Phantom Makai Knights and Darkness Hunters and made their debut at GARO: Flower of Makai.

Black Soulstone (talk) 16:36, March 8, 2019 (UTC)

Well I wrote the bulk of these articles so yeah, I know about it. Is there a specific question you want to know?

Taikage (talk) 17:48, March 8, 2019 (UTC)

Given that Makai Order is sloppy and I figured out it was because The Senate, big shots of the Order, not professional enough to handle things that it led to troubles Rei, Kouga, and Leo faced as we know it, does Shadowfolks (Phantom Makai Knights and Darkness Hunters) also troubled by The Senate's incompetence as much as them? Or they turned out much more professional enough to handle themselves which saved them from the fate that has befallen Makai Guides? I'm wondering cuz from what I can tell in Makai no Hana, it appeared Shadowfolks had no serious issue other than Eiji went rogue.

Black Soulstone (talk) 00:06, March 9, 2019 (UTC)

The Shadow Knights are still rather poorly defined. From what I can tell, they are a group of nobodies and will live and die as a secret amongst the Makai Order. They seemingly have lots of spare makai blades lying around and aren't well equipped. If it's like other shadow groups, they're a group that specializes in dirty tactics like assassinations and handling jobs that other knights might not feel comfortable with. The series itself runs on a budget, so they weren't going to show all the knights having armors. I'm only guessing that certain knights don't even have armors since they are actively training in the field with senior members while running on missions. The fate of the team itself is unknown since Eiji ran the team and now he's jailed. They never bothered to explain who is running the team in the aftermath and I'm only guessing Kuro would be the best candidate since he succeeded his master. Until they dig deeper into the mythos, everything is just a guess about their purpose.

Taikage (talk) 00:26, March 9, 2019 (UTC)

I see, but how much The Senate has a control over them? Does Shadowfolks worked more independently (I mean not relying to much on The Senate's guidance)?

Black Soulstone (talk) 01:11, March 9, 2019 (UTC)

Eiji himself was a Senatorial Knight and Shadow Knight; he carries the orders of the Makai Order. However, they had no oversight. They just trusted Eiji with his own personal army of knights to do as he pleased so long as he got results. That arrangement worked for a time, but it gave them a level of autonomy that even the Darkness Hunters couldn't tell are they corrupt.

Deletion Request[edit source]

Taikage, do you mind to delete Makai Brushes page for me? It is no longer needed due to it being copy of Madō Brush.

Black Soulstone (talk) 07:05, April 6, 2019 (UTC)

Could you also delete the second image of Resume's Madōgu in the deletion category? And the "category:Madou tool" since we already have "category:Madōgu", thanks.

MutantNinja3636 (talk) 00:08, April 7, 2019 (UTC)

Show me link. Taikage (talk) 02:39, April 7, 2019 (UTC)ōgu.jpeg

Sorry, also delete the second copy. I got a better quality image. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 02:43, April 7, 2019 (UTC)

If you're replacing an image, you can go to the original submitted image and just add in a new file. If you can't, give me a heads up. For now, I'll delete all listed.

Taikage (talk) 04:42, April 7, 2019 (UTC)

Can you also delete Bebil, as it's the same page as Babel. MutantNinja3636 (talk) 06:11, April 15, 2019 (UTC)

Makai Equipment Question[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

What is this device?

Have you watched GARO: Red Requiem? I remember during the fight scene between Garo and his priests against Karma and her goons, Akaza utilized a device that seemingly like a toy to magically conjure several warriors to deceive their enemies or something. Does that device is a Sounding Plate?

Just curious.

Black Soulstone (talk) 15:11, April 8, 2019 (UTC)

Short of Ancient Japan Anime series, pachinko games, and live action shows, I've seen everything else. I haven't seen the movie in a while, but on my memory, it's the same toy. Taikage (talk) 05:47, April 9, 2019 (UTC)

What is this device?

I see, but I still curious about device which Akaza used in gif image on the side cuz I worked on improving pages about Makai Equipment in this wikia lately, but still curious with how Sounding Plate really looked like.

Any ideas?

Black Soulstone (talk) 05:58, April 9, 2019 (UTC)

How did you get Sounding Plate to begin with? I thought with the GIF, you have an actual image of one being used?

Taikage (talk) 20:56, April 16, 2019 (UTC)

Actually, I'm not even sure whether the device Akaza used in Red Requiem indeed Sounding Plate, so that's why I asked you.

Black Soulstone (talk) 03:20, April 17, 2019 (UTC)

Always do your HW on the materials you're about to publish. If we publish inaccurate pages, it affects the integrity of the wikia. For now, I encourage you to remove the pic(s) from that page and do some research to verify it first. Once you're sure the title and picture are the same thing, then we can add it on the page.

Taikage (talk) 22:04, April 18, 2019 (UTC)

No worries, I haven't posted any pics to Sounding Plate page yet since I lacked info about it.

Black Soulstone (talk) 23:44, April 18, 2019 (UTC)

More stuff to delete[edit source]

These pages are fanfic, but one of them has a red link that I want to remove. I haven't seen you in a while, have a nice day and thank you.
MutantNinja3636 (talk) 00:50, June 15, 2019 (UTC)

I got a new job and it's been physically exhausting. I haven't had the mental energy to focus on the site as much and I've been having trouble loading GIFs to the site. For now, I deleted those pages. Please do me a solid and warn people that this place is for relaying data on established Garo material and not fan-fiction stuff. I hope things are well for you.

Charcater Infobox[edit source]

Hi Taikage, one thing that this wikia needs is a portable infobox that makes it easier for users to create character pages. I did my best, but I need you to create a page at It is something that only Admins can create and it changes how things look in the wikia (Like colored usernames on Admins).

As you can see the caption is left, so I need you to add the following source code to the MediaWiki:Wikia.css to align it. (Copy it from source)

.portable-infobox .pi-caption {

   text-align: center;

You could also see that the headers are too big, there should be a way to change through the MediaWikia, but I don't know how. I noticed that the Gundam Wikia has a MediaWiki page, maybe you can ask one of your co-founders to help you. Thank you.

GIF Image Freezing[edit source]

Hi Taikage.

Around some time ago, I figured out many gif files that posted in various wikia ended up freezing instead of working like others. The same even happened to this wikia as shown in following gif images (this only four of overal gif images that freezing):

And finally I figured out why: This likely has something to do an error or two in the wikia's system which resulted it cannot play gif images which around more than 6,4 - 8 MB at the very least. Moreover, when it comes about posting large gif images, it's best to post ones that below the aforementioned size and with dimension around 320 x 180 px at minimum.

Hope this helps.

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:23, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads up Black Soulstone. Up until recently I had no ability to load up GIFs for months! The fact I can at least load them (even if they're frozen) is slightly better than nothing. For now, I'll take your advise and try to lower the quality so it can play. Let's give it some time and if it doesn't play for several months, we'll start replacing them with lesser quality files. Thanks for the heads up.

Taikage (talk) 14:05, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

You're welcome.

I also notified MutantNinja3636 about the issue, and going to warn the same thing to Noise-kun as well. Black Soulstone (talk) 15:35, August 31, 2019 (UTC)

Garo:Moonbow Traveler[edit source]

Hi, Taikage.

Did you know that GARO: Moonbow Traveler got a HD release? Black Soulstone (talk) 04:19, April 4, 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, TVNihon released it a few days ago. How are things with you by the way? This quarantine surprisingly didn't change too much of my life, but those panic buyers are causing the most basic items to either be sold out or charged higher. I hope you're well brother! Taikage (talk) 10:59, April 4, 2020 (UTC)

I'm good as much as you are, bro!

As much as I wanted to expand GARO: Moonbow Traveler page myself (I've downloaded the film straight from site), I'll leave that at your hands since you have greater understanding regarding Garo series than me.

Plus, we finally see Ouga armor at last. And remember, don't let Coronavirus deter us from our passion!

Black Soulstone (talk) 11:35, April 4, 2020 (UTC)

Kuon Sena[edit source]

Just let you know I made a page about Kuon Sena, protagonist of GARO: Versus Road. Check it out!Black Soulstone (talk) 16:28, April 11, 2020 (UTC)

Welcome Back![edit source]

Welcome back, Taikage! Just figured out you fixed some stuff in GARO: Moonbow Traveler page and it's almost one month of absence. Black Soulstone (talk) 16:32, May 10, 2020 (UTC)

TabView migration[edit source]

Hello! I'm Stygies VIII, and I'm representing Fandom's Vanguard team. We're users who volunteer to help communities adopt to new technologies and features, like content portability. Our team has identified that your wiki uses TabView, which we anticipate may have problems working with Fandom’s UCP.

So that we can get your community ready as quickly as possible, I will be linking the pages that currently use TabView to the target pages the TabView currently points to, in accordance with Fandom’s Best Practice preferred method. We understand this represents a bit of a change, and this has gone from being a Best Practice to being a technical necessity in a very short time. As we prepare your community for UCP, we know that these pages will break outright if changes are not made prior to migration. You are free to find alternatives if the changes I am about to make are not what you want. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks!
